I own some. But I didn't buy any of it _smile.gif My daddy did and put it under my name.

I would suggest taking a class on stocks & finance to wisely manage your money and know what to buy. Because reading and fortelling the stock market is quite tricky.

And there are these things that give you fake money and you buy stocks with. It's for training.
You should try that to get more experience in stocks.

I forgot what it is, but my brother has an account, so I'll ask him when he gets home.

Buy low, sell high. And news websites usually have recommendations on which stocks to buy.
Political issues affect the stock market. Supply and demand.
And definitely mortgage interest.
When oil stocks go up, the others go down.

Err. That's all I know right now. It's too early in the morning.

Hah. I have like 6 shares of ADM.

I got em when I was like 8... and they were only worth $6 or $7 a share. Last time I checked they're worth over $40 a share.

No. I had mutual funds for a while, but they've been sold to pay tuition bills.

Your best bet is to talk to a financial advisor if you want to invest anything over $2,000. If you want to invest for fun on your own, I suggest playing an online stock game first for experience.

I know Josh has some with Gateway from a really long time ago, we some how came up to that topic talking last night.

Best bet is to go to a book store and grab a book on it and sit down and read some of it. Guess you could learn about it more than way?

I have a recommendation for a book. It's "Investing for Dummies". That book was recommended to me by a stock analyst when I expressed interest in learning. But again, if you plan to spend a large sum of money, please, please consider a financial advisor.

^ My dad did the same thing. He buys all my stock for me, and puts it in my account. I don't know much about investing. But my dad always tells me that you should do your homework before buying certain stocks - read the Wall Street Journal, etc. Invest wisely. Watch the competitors.

Maybe these'll help.

My parents and uncle used to crazy over stocks. We made some money, but I think as a whole we mostly lost. My teacher, however, was very happy with the stocks. He bought Apple stocks when they were low low, and now they're not so low low, so he's one happy guy. (:

I do - I have 2 mutual funds. It's not just "one company" but it's spread out over several.
