adding pic above navigation, doesnt work for my layout |

whenever i put the code in for adding a pic above navigation it puts it in like half the picture 3 times on the top then underneath it shows the whole picture, how do i get rid of the top 3 cut off pics? shows up like this
| | | ad here | | each of the top three are a peice of the pic and the bottom is the full pic please help |
