So even though I started working out for 10 weeks, lose about 15lbs...I'm still in love w/ food! I'm still trying to do some research on finding ways to snack during the day, I know fruits and vegs..but those get a little boring....im really craving for cookies and crackers...so any healthy, low in fat, low-med in calories..most of all healthy snacks out there?

^ That website seems helpful; good information and snack ideas. And here's another one. For me, I'm always eating dried fruit & nut mixes - even with chocolate chips mixed in. Almonds are great if you're hungry. Try some whole wheat crackers. They even have those 100-calorie snack pack thingys now. =P Oh. And you could try eating like 5 small meals instead of 3 big ones. That's what I do. Good luck! ![]() |

i used to be in weight watchers. if you go to your local grocery store they usually have alot of snacks that are by weight watchers now. less calories and all. even in the ice cream section. baked chips are good too. apple chips are yummy and healthy.

my mom is an aerobics instructer and a personal trainer and she tells everyone to like write down what they eat and the calories and the protein they are eating and they can't eat more than 1200 calories a day and try to get 20g of protein a day. it's harder than it sounds and you need to work off more than you take in kay! also don't starve yourself because then you are tricking your body and your body is like holy cow im on an island and we don't have food so it holds on to all of your calories and fat and doesn't let you burn them and then it will start burning off your muscles that's why you see anerexic people with no muscles cause their body burned them up trying to live isn't that wild!! lol! but yeah just do what i told you kay!

I usually snack on almonds or cashew nuts. Those really help. They are yummy and still fill you up!
I would also suggest buying some nutrition bars. The best one I found out there was the "Luna Bars" for women. They taste AMAZING, and only have 180 calories in them. I'm hooked. Google them online, they are so good. A lot of health food stores carry them, but I lately have been seeing them in Walgreens, WAWA, and I think I saw them at a GIANT once, so keep looking! |

Luna bars are quite healthy, but I find them pretty uh, not tasty. ![]() If you go to Safeway or REI, they have a bunch of different nutrition bars, and whatnot. Since you work out so much, you should find a nutrition bar that's right for your workouts, so you can munch on something during/after your workout. I always like to have a Balance or Clif Bar while I go rock climbing ![]() http://www.centralhome.com/nutrition-bar.htm |

Very tasty and a great way to control what you're eating. Fruit and veggies get boring for me as well, even though I know it's best to eat those types of foods when watching your calories. Whole grain toast with honey is something I'll eat in the morning (with some green tea) and that seems to help a bit. Anything with a lot of fiber will be a dear friend. |

Everyone says to get those little calorie 100 packs. What ever their called. I suggest just getting a simple fruit or something. Or veggies, I love veggies. Drink wise, I suggest water or green tea. Their both good for you. And if you drink enough you will get full eventually.

Nature Valley Yogurt Granola Bars are my life :)
I love yogurt in general. And if you're dieting, still put in a bit of unhealthy stuff everyday or else you'll crave like hell. (For instance, a small piece or chocolate or one of those 100-calorie packs.) |

You need just that to function properly, let alone have excercise to energy. Like other people said, 100 calorie packs and such. For more of a small meal, there is a brand called Amy's organic. I know it's sold in New England as well as to about virginia on the easter coast. I'm not sure about anywhere else. They make amazing pot pies and other snacks that are all organic. |

I say don't really set your calorie intake low. Get rid of empty calories (like soda!). Frozen grapes are really good, esspecially if you're someone who eats when they're bored. I do that sometimes on days that I'm home at night and I'll be watching TV and just eat for no reason. Also, drink more water. Water is the only thing I really drink, unless if I go out to eat then I'll get a diet soda, to avoid those empty calories. Green tea will help you too.
But deff. reach for fruits and veggies, they dont have to be raw there are so many ways you can prepare them. Also, make sure you take a multivitamin, you'd be surprised how much they help... with energy and clear skin, etc. |
