Okay, so, a while back I had some problems getting my computer to start up (an HP zv5340us) and I took in to get it fix but I ended up loosing all my information and lost a lot of money because the guy pretty much ripped me off.

I didn't have anything else wrong with my computer, I did virus scans and never came across a virus. I used Norton. The person who fixed my computer reinstalled Windows. Now I have problems with my programs stalling and when I surf the web pictures load more blurry and distorted.

I try calling Best Buy (the place where I bought and "fixed" my computer) but for them to look at it it would cost more money and no guarantee they'd be able to fix it.

My dad oftered to buy me a computer, so here's my question. What would be the best kind for someone who wants lots of space (for photos and such). I like the computer I have now, it's just that there's something wrong with it.

Let's fix the computer you have right now. :)

Did you reinstall your graphics drivers? That could cause your graphics to load slowly.

Oh, what internet and internet browser do you use? That could be the problem.

And your programs might be slow because of your processor/RAM space.

Is your computer the notebook PC?

QUOTE
Processor: 2.2 GHz AMD Athlon
Number of Processors: 1
RAM: 512 MB
RAM Type: DDR SDRAM
Hard Drive: 100 GB
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition

Could be your processor. Maybe.

What programs are stalling or is it just all?

http://www.download.com/SANDRA-Lite/3000-2...tml?tag=lst-0-1

Download SANDRA, it'll give us a little more information about your computer. Run a quick system overview summary and copy in all the information it gives us.

Another problem could be spyware, google "Spybot Search and Destroy" and run it to see if you got any spyware.

Well, I've had my computer for quite some time, and it never used to do this so I don't think it's a preexisting problem.

Um, on the system summary it gives a ton of info. Is there specific information that you need?

I used to have Norton Antivirus but when the person at Best Buy "fixed" my computer he installed Spysweeper and TrendMicro Antivirus instead.

Umm. That's pretty vague.
Clicking on the shortcut definitely won't do.

Control Panel > Help and Support (Under see also on the left) > Advanced System Information (Should be somewhere on that page.)
