theres not alot of double-eye-lidded asians out there. and the ones that do still have a flat face so it doesnt really seam like it. where as white people, they have very deep inset eyes so it makes there eyelids more pronoucned.

QUOTE poised' date='Aug 30 2006, 5:05 PM' post='2261141'] hm... most people don't notice, but i've got one single eyelid and one double eyelid. The only thing i don't like about the single eyelid is that it's harder to put contacts in. oh,... that, and it also makes your eyelashes go down farther. Hey!! ME TOO. I dont really think people notice it really either.. because my left eye well.. there IS a crease but, you can definatly see a difference with my right eye that has a thick lid. So I dont think my left eye is "fully" a single eyelid. but most people probably wouldnt notice that unless I tell them. ![]() ![]() ![]() and also when Im trying to curl my lashes, my left eye sometimes hurts, while with my right, I dont feel a thing. but its weird though, when I was little I had double eyelids and nice ones too. ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, I guess.
Probably because of harsh weather in Mongolia. Same thing goes for the eyelids. |

How does that happen? ![]() I am 100% Chinese and I have one single eyelid and one double eyelid. It's just the luck of genetics. My aunt has the same. Having double eyelids is rather common for East Asians according to Wikipedia: In Asian cultures, the presence of an epicanthal fold is associated with the lack of an upper [[eyelid crease]], commonly termed "single eyelids" as opposed to "double eyelids". The two features are distinct; a person may have both epicanthal fold and upper eyelid crease, one and not the other, or neither. About 50% of eastern Asians are born with a single eyelid, i.e. an eyelid with no crease It's the epicanthal fold that gives the Asian look, not whether or not there is a double eyelid. All East Asians have the fold, which has (as you said) evolved due to the weather, but the eyelid varies naturally. Personally I like both kinds (well, I guess I have to say that don't I ![]() |

I had no idea there are "double" or "single" eyelids.
::googles:: Okay now by looking at the pictures I've seen them before, but I have no idea that they were called that. ![]() I guess I like double ones better |
