Close, Away

Keeping things in to keep you close
Trying to hold back so we don't fly away
Holding what's happened so close to my heart
It's hard to forget what you made fall apart

The secrets we have and we keep so close
Relationships like paper get lost or blown away
What's holding us back from holding eachother
Is the pain of lost trust and feelings from another

What's the reason we ache to be so close
Who was it that made us push so far away
The things that they did or the things that they've done
Are the losses we've taken from victories we've "won"

The past is never far and future never close
When Hope of someone treating us different goes away
I'll give you mine if you give me yours, we'll always have the same
Without your past you wouldn't be who you are today
