I saw a show on MTV about this..how girls get surgery. I think its sad that you feel you have to get your eyelids taped just to conform to a different look then your own.

I dont think they sell them here in america. Unelss they are in asian stores or somthing.
GOod thing they came up with it. Cause if my friend idnd't have that, she'd die of misery. I dunno shes always been desperate to wear top eyeliner. Since shes like japanese and stuff. but me and her always joke about hers. |

Well, I'd understand why Asian chicks would feel so pressured to have "big, beautiful" eyes. It just happens to be one of media's rules for "beauty." Just like boob jobs, nose jobs, butt jobs, etc. I am probably gonna get surgery to make my eyes double eyelid, and I am happy that I can. :p It's not cause I don't like the way I am right now, I just feel like I'd like to do that little bit to make myself look better.
Seriously, if you look at it another way.. For example, most of you girls probably get your eyebrows shaped someway to make yourself look 'better.' Is that not accepting yourself? Probably every girl here shaves. Is that not also to make yourself look better? |

it looks painful. my eyes are strange. one eye has a lid, and the other one doesn't. but i don't think i would ever get surgeory to fix it.
that really has no relation to the question you asked, but anyway! i haven't seen that around and haven't heard of it until now. |

First time I've heard of it, but that's really disgusting in so many ways.
First, it's really yucky to put tape on your eyelids. Pulling it off..? Yuck. Second, PLEASE just accept who you are- it sounds cheezy, but it's what makes life so much fun, seeing everyone's differences. And it's really sort of sick that you'd want to change your body by harming yourself kinda to make yourself have an EYELID CREASE. I mean, come on. It's an eyelid crease. And what's worse, it's just to conform... Please. |

That's so weird, I never heard of it.
Haha, I thought the double eyelid was bad because like lately, when I wash out my eye makeup, I sort of like put my skin one way or something. I don't know, it's really gross. And now, I sort of have a double eyelid, I guess. I hate it though, I thought it meant that my eye was fat or something. LOL. |

Having a double eyelid makes it easier for a girl to put make up on.. I would know cuz I don't have and it's so hard to put top eyeliner on. That and it's just annoying having everyone assume I'm Chinese because my eyes are small.

Yeah, I'm asian...
My mom told me that she just bent her eyelids when she was younger all the time with her fingers, like teasing her eyelids, and they eventually turned into faint double eyelids. My grandma got an operation for that... Me? I'm kinda doing what my mom is, and it's working little by little XD --The downside to Asians |
