I just recently finished the book (today, as a matter of fact). Personally, I felt it was a well-written book, but I confess I skimmed over a few pages because they felt a little repetitive.

Oh, and I noticed how the title is "Anna Karenina" and the book jacket says "Konstantine Levin", but it's "Anna Karenin" and "Constantine Levin" in the actual text. Any ideas on why that might be so? I think it might be because of the way it was translated, but I'm not so sure. _unsure.gif

What are your thoughts on this book?

I'm so interested in reading this because it's on Oprah's Book Club list and the author is Leo Tolstoy. I really like his short stories. I just read the summary at SparkNotes and it sounds a bit confusing. I'd probably mix up family members. But, it's filled with drama so it would be an interesting read.

I bought it at a used book store and I plan on reading it. The man at the counter said it was excellent and that it's basically a soap opera from a looong time ago laugh.gif. It sounds pretty good.

When I read the summary, I thought, "Wow, this would make an excellent soap opera!" laugh.gif

Very good book! I liked it a lot. However, I was a bit depressed afterwards...
