Definition

Some people get confused or don't really know the complete definition for "Anime" or "Otaku" is. So here are the definitions to help you out!

Anime: a style of animation originating in Japan. It is sometimes referred to by the portmanteau Japanimation. Anime is characterized by stark, colorful graphics and stylized, colorful images depicting vibrant characters in a variety of different settings and story-lines, aimed at a wide range of audiences. Anime may be broadcast on television, distributed on media such as DVDs or published as console and computer games. Anime is usually influenced by Japanese comics known as manga.


Otaku: a variety of geek (or an overly obsessed fanboy / fangirl) specializing in anime and manga.

So my friend bought me One Piece (the manga) for a birthday gift and I actually liked it.

I usually hate One Piece. The anime is a HUGE turnoff. Especially the dubbed version.

I'm excited. Even though the first movie wasn't as awesome as I thought it would be, it's always neat to see my favorites stories go from manga to anime/live-action. Yay for that!

i just finieshed watching spirited away on youtube and the ending sucked!!! what happens to haku and chihiro!!!!????? IM SO UPSET BY THAT. same thing happened in Princess Mononoke what about her and Akatsuki!!! damnit they need to end there movies better!! *shakes fist* Dx

I was so sad in the end of Spirited Away.... and Princess Mononoke. But Miyazaki redeemed himself in Howl's Moving Castle.

GAH Theyre replacing Hachi's actress with the the chick from the Japanese Grudge movies, for NANA 2. I read that Aoi didnt want to continue with the second movie because of a certain bedroom scene and she didnt want to tarnish her reputation. And another reason was she didnt agree or signed a contract for the second film. I really like the girl that played Hachi I thought she was really cute. The replacement actress doesnt look that bad but I guess what has to be done, has to be done.
