Well I was adopted, and when I was born I was named Rosa Maria by my biological mother.
Then I got adopted and my adoptive parents named me Lucy.
They named me Lucy because of the character Lucy in "I Love Lucy" the TV show.
not really entertaining.
but my name is old fashion.
like you know at the those souviner stores with the things with names on them?
they never have my name! cry.gif

I have an old lady name (I don't like it so I'm not going to mention it). I don't really have a "story" behind it. I was named after family that my mom was really close to.

My nickname is Dee. Everyone calls me Dee. I got the nickname Dee simply because when I started talking I couldn't pronounce my real name, I could only say the "D". I ended up going around and telling everyone my name was Dee. I guess it just stuck.

My given name means clever justice (weird combo). My Dad, the military man that he was, thought our native country needed some of it after the war.

Same here (SORTA!), except my dad wanted a Filipino name and my mom insisted on Rose and the grandparents wanted something white.

Dad won. Which was kind of dumb, because my name isn't even that Filipino.

My name could be a boys or girls name. My mother named me after a tv show. My dad liked the name because its a car name.. He likes cars..
Haha Um, When I was little I got a bored/plack thing and it says this.

SHELBY!

The lovely young lady named Shelby cares about others. She gladly uses her many fine talents on their behalf. The name Shelby was once used primarily for boys, but recently has grown in popularity as a first name choice for girls. It can also be found as a surname. A contemporary namesake is actress Shelby Hiatt. Shelby originates in the Anglo Saxon and means " The Sheltered Town." In all her endeavors, Shelby surly displays her indiviguality while others marvel at her quiet growing self-confidence.

There yeah go :-)

My dad had a friend or something named Sayuri and my dad got to choose my name since my mom chose my brothers name. So I guess he liked that name.

Aww. Like i said before i know other asian kathleens! one's korean, the other is malaysian (which is a hop, skip and a jump away from filipino, haha)

Mom's name: Rose
Dad's name: Lino

say 'em together really fast without the "no" in lino.

and then the Anne is from my grandpa, whose name was Aniceto
the end.

100% filipino and the only filipino thing about it is that my full name is long and my parents like to say all of them when they are angry.

I was supposed to be a boy, and I was gonna be Danny Ray, just like my dad. Then they found out I was a girl, so they changed it to Danielle Rae. My dad didn't like it, so he decided to name me after my mom, Karen. My name was still going to be Danielle, but they didn't like the way Danielle Karen sounded. Instead they decided to switch it around so it was Karen Danielle, but I still go only by Danielle and never EVER Karen.

Yeah, it gets confusing on the first day of class every year. ._.

My mother doesn't name the kids if its a girl, so it was up to my dad.
He really liked this song by the band Boston, and the song Hollyann. So thats how I got named it. And my middle name they just picked a bunch of names and put it in this hat and picked it out from what I know.

OOO. Wow. I think your name's pretty. I've never heard of anyone named that so it's unique to me.
D: One of my friends from third grade was named Hecmaryliz.
=.= Strangest name, ever no?
Hector = her dad.
Mary = her mom.
Liz = Her older sister.

Umm.. such creativity.

Both my parents wanted to name me after their parent, depending on whether I came out a boy or a girl. They never settled it, so when I popped out a girl they did the next best thing; they combined names. Lina + Estella = Listelle. I love my name. I can't imagine if I came out a boy. Benjamin + Pablo = Benablo?? blink.gif
