Yeah I'm all about saving the world from Global Warming. I live in Texas and we;re seeing record heat. It is NOT pleasant. wanna know an interesting tidbit? One marajuana plant gives off the same amount of oxygen as an acre of trees. But its illegal. I think everyone should have to plant one NOT SMOKE IT!!!

anyway, I joined the virtual march a week ago or so. I wish the president would take this more seriously. Its a huge threat. I wish people would take it more seriously period. Its a very real problem. I went to stopglobalwarming.com and went thru the checklist and did all the things I could to limit my carbon monoxide dumping. I unplug a lot of my appliances when they arent in use. It saves money and the planet. I just wish people would open their eyes. Its not going to be too much longer before people CAN'T ignore the proof. I just hope its not too late.

^Oh, stop. biggrin.gif Less smoking, more planting. Plant a tree, plant a marijuana plant, plant a garden...

Yeah, the president DEFINITELY needs to be taking this more seriously. God he's dumb. I'm just glad to see that there are actually people who take this seriously.

Then we need to elect a democrat. SOON. One who will allow us to plant marijuana. And more trees so they can eat the CO2.

Well, IMO, if there is something we can do to stop it then it needs to become public worldwide.
And if it is so bad then we should not have to pay to go to the damn theater and see the consequences.
We need more public announcements, more grusome public announcements to scare us into doing something.
Bush needs to say something.
I was scared at first but it's so easy to forget about it, the first start is to put it out there.

The thing is, Global Warming is a natural proccess, we just happen to be here to experience it and we're probably just making it come sooner. We are JUST coming out of the Ice Age. The Ice Age will come again too, and then global warming, and then the Ice Age, and then global warming. What it does to us might just be inevitable.

Umm. Do you actually know when the last ice age was? A REALLY LONG TIME AGO. We are not just coming out of the last Ice Age.. And at this rate, Global Warming will devistate the Earth! Last year's temperatures were record breaking! This probably the warmest the Earth's ever been for billions of years!
Global Warming is mostly because of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. It's been proven that the more CO2 there is in the atmosphere, the worse Global Warming gets. Global Warming at this intensity should NOT be inevitable. The amount of CO2 has been rising since the first humans set foot on Earth. Which means, what? GLOBAL WARMING IS BECAUSE OF HUMANS. It won't be inevitable if we stop using so much gas and electricity..

So when the Ice Ages happen the CO2 goes down? Did you know that they are predicting another Ice Age to come sooner? Oh yea, but I thought you said CO2 is increasing because of humans and that is what's causing the Earth to get hotter. And it SURE was increasing and making the Earth hotter when the Ice Ages came DIDN'T IT? I hope you don't think the Earth will continue to get hotter until it will burn out.

Actually I am very aware it was a long time ago, and there does not have to be Ice everywhere for the earth to just come out of the Ice Age. But why are we not coming out of it? Because it happened a long time ago? And it was "over along time ago" which is why the ice that came from the Ice Age in certain places is starting to melt now which IS causing the polar bears to drown and the glaciers are just now starting to melt? "Do you actually know" where those glaciers come from? We are coming out of it sweetie, I didn't say it just happened, I said we are coming out of it and we are. The things that were left from that Age are starting to go. Not convinced... "along time ago" cannot justify that, sweetie, it's not gonna cut it laugh.gif

Global Warming will not devestate the Earth, it has happened before in these billions of years you're talking about, it will probably devestate the humans and animals though. If anything we are just making the effects come sooner than they should. Ok thank you.

Global Warming hasn't been this intense. Just look: The levels of CO2 compared to temperature:

In at least the past FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND YEARS, the amount of CO2 has never surpassed the amount we have now. The amount of CO2/PPM has never exceeded 300, but in the last few years, it has grown to almost FOUR HUNDRED. And you know why? Because we use cars, electronics, and other energy consuming things. And DEFORESTATION. Cutting down the rain forest means that there are less trees to "eat" the CO2. And so Amount of CO2>Amount usually consumed by trees. And so more CO2 traps heat in the Earth, meaning Global Warming.

And what effects come sooner because of it? DEATH? Yeah. Did you see The Day After Tomorrow? The Atlantic Current changed drastically and pretty much caused everything to happen. Do you know how it'll change? The amount of salt in the ocean will change the density of water. And you know what changes the amount of salt in the water? MELTING GLACIERS. And melting glaciers are caused by Global Warming, which I have proven above is caused by humans.

And it will devistate the Earth. Do you know droughts? They're caused by low rainfall and high temperatures and a low amount of ground water. Which is basically caused by humans and global warming. Do you know what they do? No grass, plants, nothing. Which means that animals AND humans will have nothing to eat. And if you only eat meat, there'll be no food for the cows/chickens/pigs/ect. to eat, so you'll starve too. And less/no humans or none of certain species of animals will damage the Earth's ecosystem, which devistates the Earth. And you know why? Because of humanity and Global warming.

*sigh* I have to remember that this is not the debate forum. We should make one for global warming though :) Sorry if I offended you in any way. I just get really defensive when someone disagrees with or questions me.

I'm sorry. sad.gif

I never said glaciers weren't caused by global warming of course they are. That's exactly how the ice gets cleared up from other ice ages _smile.gif It does cause death to us, I already said it won't devestate earth it will devestate humans. I know it is harmful to us.

there's nothing we can do about it.

NO one works together as team to stop it.

actually, no one cares. we deal with "chemical reactions" everything which include bus, cooking, driving, burning, and etc.

no matter what, no one cares.

OK, ok, I read it and it is geared more towards humans than the EARTH, we are not the EARTH, we just live here. If we don't have food, we starve, we die, the Earth does not. It goes through certain cycles to repair itself and if we all died off then the earth will definitely be able to. _smile.gif If humans were not here, the earthquakes, tornados, heavy rainfall, tsunamis, hurricanes and all the stuff global warming could cause would not hurt anything. I believe the reason the media/politicians are trying to stop it is to save US.

Welp, that's about it, you proved but I heard how we are gonna starve, die, but that has nothing to do with the Earth's condition, the only thing that has threatened the Earth so far is it's ozone layer decaying, but the ozone is now repairing itself. Other than that, I don't know how it could eliminate earth from the galaxy or anything, it could eliminate everyone, but I'm sure Earth will still be here and just become a planet with no one on it like the others.

And hey, don't put the crying face girl, there is always going to be someone's whos opinion is different than yours ya know? Everyone thinks a little differently. _smile.gif

It won't be just us who dies. Many animals will die out. And that'll damage the ecosystem, which devistates the Earth. Devistation of the Earth doesn't only have to do with it's condition..

Elaine, everything you've said has been brilliant.

Bobby, you're right, this information DOES need to be made public. Yes, Global Warming started on it's own, but not at this rate. Since humans aided in it, we also need to help slow its effects.

You know why? We have been reducing the amount of CFCs since 1986.

If we can get everyone together and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, then we can stop global warming.

Global warming is highly at risk.
