To rule the world, of course.

My fathers sleep on the Eastern Plain,
And each one sleeps alone,
But I lean on no dead kin,
My name is mine for fame or scorn,
And the world began when I was born,
And the world is mine to win.

I don't think he 'knows', but that is his purpose in life. Everyone must has a purpose.

But that's the point, they haven't truly lived.

Living to me is not just the feel of heartbeat, is not just your urgings to satisfy basic needs, such as feeding or... sex.

Living is experiencing life for what it can give us: nature, passions, feelings, knowledge...etc.

They must see those things for themselves before determining their purpose. They haven't seen all the options given to them. Their purpose wasn't known to them at all because they haven't gotten a chance to.

adolf hitler went to mass every sunday, so that in your eyes is "serving god." do you think he's in heaven?

going to mass is NOT serving God. it's going to a building and sitting there for a couple of hours.

How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.

She was arguing that people who believes in God and do bad things will still go to Hell as opposed to people who do good things should go to Heaven whether or not they have faith in God.

Also, according to many other Christians, going to mass means respecting and serving God.

yeah but just sitting in a church... or in a temple, synagogue, masjid, gurdwara, or any religious building doesn't mean that you serve God or gods, it just means you're going to a building. If serving God is your purpose, you should be doing more than that. And if your purpose isn't serving God, shouldn't it be serving others? it takes all of us to make the world go 'round.

I wish that were true for all Christians. However, the world isn't full of people who are willing to serve God by serving His children. And the world's full of people are too greedy to give to charity, these are Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Muslims, alike.

When people come to my house to preach, they mostly do it in hope that I will convert or join their Churches. I haven't heard a single person mention anything about charity; it was mostly to praise the glory of God and the rewards for doing so.

I do charity on my own time and I try to encourage others to do the same in their spare time. But I don't do in the name of God, I do it in the name of morality. But heck, I'll still be going to Hell for it because of my disbelief.

Purpose of life? We each have our own, but it takes time to discover them.

couldn't be better put. high five. someone needs to tell you thanks for serving His children, even if not in the name of God... wish more people [believers and non-believers alike] were more charitable - so here i am, thanking you and all others out there who are doing something to benefit the world as a whole... or maybe even just one life. bless you all.

Erm... Ahem, that's why I said I wish that were true for ALLLLLLLLLLLL Christians. I didn't say that everyone of that faith are lazy butts. I also said the same of other religions, NOT JUST those of Christian faith.

Don't think I don't know about charity programs funded by Christians. I work for a Christian organization.
