I agree. Although being "beautiful" definitely doesn't make you a better, smarter, whatever person than someone considered "ugly", it can make life a lot easier. Anyone see the spanish soap opera, "Betty La Fea"? (Betty the Ugly).

To be bluntly truthful, life is generally more pleasant for "pretty" people. Who would you rather help open a door, pick up papers, help cheat, talk to? an ugly person or a beautiful one? Want an interesting (but long) article? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3917414 People may say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but guess what? There is a standard among our culture that defines what is considered beautiful, whether we know it/admit it or not. Naturally, the ugly people tend to have lower self-esteems--> a somewhat negative outlook on life-->not as friendly/outgoing/cheerful as they could be or as pretty people are-->people avoid them-->cycle That's life for you all. ![]() i think you're awesome for providing a link. i read everything. |

I think if I was ugly life wouldn't be as easy. When you are beautiful and look good people are willing to help you more, you make more friends and jobs just might come easier. These are just my experiences. Teachers will cut you more slack and of course the att.

I think I read that poll in Cosmogirl.
It's sad, yes, but I honestly do think that people's lives are better when they're more attractive. I mean, of course what's on the inside is what should count, but we live in a society where appearance is SO important. That's just my opinion though. ![]() |

Most definitely. Being pretty raises self-esteem, it is where everyone gets their first impression of you.

well your looks are the first thing people are going to see before getting to really know and see that beauty is really in the inside.
people are judged everyday, can't really change it. but if everyone wanted to be this one pretty then everyone would more than likely look the same, in which I would never want. I'm fine with how I look most of the time. I don't dislike it enough to go out and get "prettY" |

People are nicer to you when you look good. Well they are nicer to your face when you are ugly and talk shit behind ur back where as mean to good looking people cuz we're jealous. But I feel like a totally different person when I pretty myself up. When I'm plain me I feel underconfident and I never feel like going outside. Then I prettify and I'm like hy I'm cute lets go somewhere!! Shallow I know leav eme alone.
