Haha.
This is MTV for god sakes.
What do you expect?

Now if we're talking about them having 5 Grammy nominations...then there's a debate.

^ how so? =/
I'd think they'd win a grammy for "Camisado"
but not "I write sins not tragedies".
That song is by far atleast the worst song i've herd.
Well, maybe because I'm biast that that song is the fact that they're super famous. (and MTV)

you know Ryan wrote in his blog, that the band didn't even want to go on MTV, or they didn't like the idea of it... they also apologized to the real fans, on the official website.

Thats because they freaking rock!!! && do i wish though that the old base guy didnt quit cry.gif

He didn't quit.
They kicked him out, thats why he's filing a lawsute of some sort.

anyways, WHY WHY!!! MTV!! WHY??!?
urgh, they kill. fallen.gif

its not funny either.

Lol, I'm not surprised. Panic! At The Disco is really popular.

why do you think that? because of MTV & the stupid radio.

I mean seriously, one day I played Panic! at school and everyones like "Shut that crap up" then like 9 months later they start singing "I write sins not tragedies" and they say "omg i loveee panic!" and i'm like "mhm sure you do, just like you love.." and it goes on.
same thing happened with Cascada, I liked her music three years before it go famous.

If you notice, everyone fallows what the media tells them.
well not everyone, including me.

seriously...im not suprised that they have 5 niminations. i mean in my opinion they're are like one of the biggest bands for teens cause they actually sing what we would listen to and unlike green day and other bands theyre actually nineteen and eighteen.

rofl1.gif they're good lyrics but definitely not enough for a grammy. maybe if they reach their third album, then we'll talk.

you have a pretty good point when you put it that way. about how they're actually our age and stuff. they are taylor-made for the mtv demographic

God I'm so sick of people and their self righteous bullshit. A lot of fans were introduced to panic! because of mtv, people like me, who don't go around looking for underground bands because I have my own underground music career to focus on. But I guess I only like them cuz they are on mtv right? hell no. I like dthe song i write sins the second i heard it, on mtv2 for Christs sake. then a friend of mine heard me singing it to the radio and asked me who they were and I didnt even know. so I looked them up online, downloaded every song, and then bought the album. I love every song on the album as well. But thats just becuse the media tells me to right? I would have never heard of them if I hadn't had the tv on in the background that day. I'm grateful to mtv because they introduce me to music i like. besides, no one twisted their arms to make a video in the first place. And is it so wrong to reach a bigger fan base? Why does everyone have to make mtv the devil. I mean they hardly even play music on there anymore as it is. All they have are tv shows. But thats just the media telling me to like panic. Not what I think with my own brain. Quit trying to give yourselfs so much f**king credit for knowing some band before they were famous. Maybe the reason they are popular, and the reason they are nominated, is because they are actually GOOD. heaven forbid. I hope they win them all.

rofl1.gif j'anelle you're my idol. throb.gif

for the record, i myself, the starter of the thread (although on a different username) did not learn about panic! at the disco until i saw 'em on MTV2 and yeah, i liked 'em because of it. i own their cd, i know all the words to their songs, and i like them and i think they're good. but the reason why i was surprised by the nominations was because i felt that there were videos that were better.

lol. i suppose it didn't used to be so shameless and marketing...

but i must say i DO want them to prove a lot of critics wrong by kicking ass with their sophomore release. i really want them in it for the long run...

lol hahaha. well I'm glad to hear it throb.gif

So yeah I was pretty suprised too, but when it comes down to it mtv is going for what the people want, not what is really neccesarily "the best." But I have to say this year (and the few before it actually) hasnt been a great year for music so, though good, I think Panics competition isn't that...competitive. and I really hope they stick it to them all with an amazing followup album. I just really wanna punch people in the face for this whole "i liked them before they were famous" crap. People like me before I'm famous, but thats because I'm like hi I'm J'anelle LIKE MEEEE!!! And I know a lot of people who know who i am and dont like me will be sitting there after I'm famous going, oh yeah, I liked her. And I will wanna punch them too. You people aint nothin special, you just probably were on myspace or xanga or createblog. The odds were on your side lol. Heres a cookie. Aiight I'm done.

Oh and I'm really really really excited that they are performing even tho Brendon Urie somtimes seems to be a bit iffy on his performances. Still I'll be sitting on the couch giggling like a groupie. haha

PATD should come out with atleast 1 for i write sins not tragidies. If not somethings gone horribly wrong because they are PREFORMING and usually you got one when you do so. Just look at how Green Day did.
