Bylaws, What is to be done?

What is going to happen to the bylaws forum?

SOMETHING needs to be done, because it is pissing me off just seeing it festering there. It is never active, and half the moderators in there are barely active anymore.

Are we going to:

a) Abandon them as a lost cause and delete the forum.

or

b) Appoint a new set of staff and pick up where we left off to try and make a real go of it

Frankly, I would LOVE to try again, but it seems like it will inevitably turn out to be a waste of time, judging by what happened last time...

But whatever, at least do something with it. It offends my eyes in it's useless state.

I think that we should appoint a new set of staff.
I would really like these bylaws to actually take place.

But, I don't see how, if nobody ever visits the forum :

Tell me. What is there to discuss about? o__o

What do you contribute in the bylaw forum? What are you really mad about? Do you know what is "bylaw"?

Why don’t you make a topic in bylaw? There’s a purpose of having feedback forum.

The bylaw discussion isn’t only for committees. YOU are welcome to make any topics and we can discuss.

Or you're power hungry?

I really don’t see why you're mad about?

btw, how does the forum offend you eye? Dont click on it. Simple as that.

HM. James only helped create the by-laws. I have no idea how he contributes to it at all. stubborn.gif

Steven, i was the one who helped come up with the bylaws forum idea with jusun in the first place.

I was a member of the bylaws staff for a long time, and continued to contribute even after I was removed from staff after a seperate incedent.

I helped APPOINT YOU to bylaws staff. which good GOD wish i had fought against. now BE QUIET AS YOU CLEARLY DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

ok. as you clearly do not understand the purpose of my post, i will explain it to you, using the 3498304731 banal questions you asked in your post.

1) What I contribute to the bylaws forum - already addressed

2) I'm not mad about anything (well, i am now, actually), and im not sure why you have that impression. I simply want something to happen with the forum, rather than it just sitting there.

3) Yes, I am fully aware of the definition and purpose of the bylaws. Evidently more so than you are. Why on earth would i be the addressing the issue if i knew nothing about it? You seem to be an expert at that sort of thing, so perhaps you could provide a hypothetical response.

4) I did not make a topic in the bylaws forum, because the purpose of that forum is to discuss the actual implementation of said bylaws, and additional topics would clutter it. furthermore, i wished my topic to recieve attention, and the bylaws forum is not longer active enough to make a topic created there worthwhile. In addition, this an opportunity for people to provide FEEDBACK as to what they feel would be the most appropriate course of acton. Hence, the FEEDBACK forum.

5) What gives you the impression that I'm power hungry? The only power i want at the moment is the power to make your fingers fall off so that you could never trouble us again with your incessant imbecility.

6) Funnily enough, 'it offends my eyes' was a joke. And even if i didnt click on it, i can still SEE IT, you dunderhead.

idk. From my view of point, you sounded pretty annoyed with the bylaw forum. i asked you a lot of questions to get more details out of you. I don’t think you were specific or I would like to know more about your problems w/ the forum.

wait. you werent mad before? wacko.gif

I think you were mad. idk. that's what i see from here:

If you want something to happen, can you please make a topic? i cant think of an topic to discussed about ... because I don’t think there is anything to discuss.

what i mean by "power hungry" is this:

"Are we going to:

You made it sounds like ... we suck at bylaw or something. I dont think the bylaw forum needed to be deleted. if any member find something to discussed about, we can continue the bylaw disucssion. why appoint new set of staff? we already have staff members. the thing is ... what is there more to discussed about. we accept new threads to discussed about. it made me think you want staff power ... by kicking people off the staff group.

that's right. i'm suggesting you not to click on it.

I'd go with option B James and I'd be glad to help out. I've been trying to suggest a plan to get it going again. Everyone keeps saying it failed and honestly, it didn't. It's just that members are actually satisfied with the rules for now. It's still there if anyone has suggestions. There's still some work that needs to be done though.

james, calm down.

steven, you too.

come on. the bylaws are almost complete. they need to be formally written, and then formally approved. That's all.

i love how many people are into booting the current staff just so they can get a spot. some of them are still around to help out, but i understand some spots need to be filled due to not even being active on the forums.

Janette, what sort of changes do you mean? Just curious.

I think only a few people would have to be replaced/appointed, at the most. I don't see much that has to be done besides having it formally written out.

there's no point in taking the time to write it out if we arent sure that they will be implemented.

and last i heard, we were STILL waiting for jusun to remember that they exist. or can you just bypass him and get on with it?

What I said in the by-law thread, I basically would want to say here as well.
QUOTE
For some reason I thought that the by-laws were already in affect, alteast most of them. The hiring part changes each hiring session. It's hard setting that part in stone since the community keeps on changing and sometimes it's better with nominations and other times using the application method.

I guess they do need to be written out officially or whatever, I wasn't sure who was supposed to do that after the by-laws were completed? I think james maybe since all this was his idea?

The current by-laws are basically complete...except under advertising it says "coming soon. be patient" or whatever, but i'm still not entirely sure what needs to be said about advertising on cb. I thought that advertising was just not allowed. period.

If another issue comes up that needs to be addressed, someone makes up a topic in the by-law forum, and we talk about that problem or idea, and then the committee decides if it needs to be added to the by-laws.
I never thought the by-laws would ever really be finished and set in stone, I always thought they would keep changing and things would be added in or taken out because this community changes.

Atleast that is my take on it. I'm not entirely sure what everyone else thinks about this subject.

But I do agree that we may need to replace a few people later on or now. Whenever the time is right.
