well the quality of the images has nothing to do me... i mean they are clear when i post them... but from it going from image shack to being rehosted here on the site it looses it quality.... and if i go and replace the image url from where i originally hosted the image.. sooner or later the image will exceed bandwidth...

and if its not that and just the layout its self.. i'm sorry and will remove it... i mean i have seen a few REALLY bad layouts... and wonder how they get passed... but thats not on me

Guys -
http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...p;#entry2225365

This was posted yesterday and believe me, the Staff was up wayyy late working on this and will continue to do so.

The goal here is to achieve excellence and to raise cB standards. :)

ok if stuff like that gets accepted... then what about the layouts that were there and had their small share of fame??

i had three ... and two got rejected... i mean i'm not bashing the staff i understand the reason for the update
but if the whole what gets accepted and what doesn't is starting to confuse me...

^ Don't be confused, just go read the requirements for layouts.
http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...t&p=1329925

Any layouts that are rejected are because they dont meet the requirements.
A lot of the older layouts were made by generators, its just that the older design staff didnt know what to look for in the codes.
So while we were cleaning out, like I said, we just rejected the layouts that didnt meet the requirements.

oohh, this explains why some of my layouts & graphics were rejected. meh. I didn't liked them much neither.

Though I understand that some didn't fit the requirements, but few layouts (by other members) that were somewhere on top of downloads & favorites were gone also. I mean, they aren't as pretty or perfect, but people liked them, isn't that what cB is all about? the community?

You're just mad because your work was rejected.
at least, you have some work that are reserved here. Calm down.

It's not about what moderator dont like.
It's about rising the standard and cB's reputation for graphic.

I'm not telling you not to be mad. I'm telling you to calm down.

Do you have proof that the layouts with over 300 favorites was rejected? Are you just assuming ? Did you pm the moderator about this? Let them know about the "favorites".

Does she need to, huh? Not everyone can make layouts and graphics. rolleyes.gif

And so what if they were favorited 300 times? I've looked at past layouts that were just well, amazing, and they don't have anywhere near 50 favorites. Most of your layouts wouldn't fit my standards. I know they won't fit a lot of standards. Same with a lot of people here, too. We've talked about this multiple times in chat, and your layouts came into discussion.

- http://www.createblog.com/layouts/download.php?id=11981 (What happened to the other 4 buttons on the contact table?)
- http://www.createblog.com/layouts/preview.php?id=13068 (WTF. Enough said.)

It doesn't matter how many people have added your layout to their favorites, if it doesn't meet the standards, it's gone. Honestly, the ones that I have seen from you don't come close. Try putting more time into them instead of submitting like 50.

^ agreed.
you just make the typical layouts that other layout makers can easily make. the favorties don't really mean anything. there's many other layouts that only have about one favorite of even none and i believe they look fantastic.

You guys, please stop arguing. She has the right to be upset. And, for the rest of you, please just keep it to yourself that you don't like ECD layouts.

Please.

Actually, about 95% of the layouts I rejected where made by a generator. mellow.gif
I see where you are coming from, but ones with tons of downloads, or the 3000 that you speak of being submitted, a large majority of those are made my generators. ermm.gif
We have good reasoning for rejecting them...
We are just going by the requirements and doing our job.

Yes, I understand. Thank you.
Your PM was long and thought out.
And you made a good point..
I was just stating, since so many people were mad, that a lot were generated.
It wasnt really directed to you, just kind of.. replying sorta.. if that makes sense. pinch.gif

Yes, but this is just new. I believe this is the first time we did a mass cleaning to createblog's contributions; you weren't informed that it was going to be rejected.

Many, so many layouts were...uh...crappy. pinch.gif They need to be gone, no matter if they spent five whole minute adjusting their stylesheet.

mean i know people are complaining about how the layouts have been looking. But the layouts you have gotten rid of have been downloaded and are still used in come myspaces. Yes, it's a no brainer to make most of those layouts, but just the fact that a person actually took the time to change the codes, and resizing and adjusting the photo to a perfect fit for the layout and then actually submitting this layout so people can use it, should show you how altruistic these people are.

Um. Staff members had the right to remove any layout. Designers don’t have to contribute to cb. No one forces any designer to promote. It’s a designer's choice. it's not the staff's fault to remove the layout due to the standard. i actually liked the idea that the moderator are doing their jobs because lately, i had see a bad-looking layout. Cb's standard is about the quality of layouts, not quantity or how much layout anyone submits. I could possibly submit an ugly layout with a lot of effort into it. Why? I’m not good with Myspace CSS. That’s why i prefer div myspace layouts because they are easier and require mainly basic foundation of css/html. Remember, it's about QUALITY layout.

if layouts are rejected, people should ... at least, take that as a consideration and encouragement. it will give us a better idea of how to make a better layout. if everyone can do that, cB will be well known for great graphics, inspiration, and etc. i think that's important becuase it inspired us to bring our true potiental.

When i was a beginner, i suck at making layouts. i didn’t have the proper knowledge of html and graphics. Guess what? i kept trying to make better layout. There are times when i wasn’t great at making layout. Therefore, i quitted.

Until, i was browsing through roxy/roxanne's xanga. i was amaze that she made such great xanga layouts. She was my inspiration which sparks my interests.

After that, I worked hard on making layouts, learning codes, memorizing css, and etc.

Here i am now, I consider myself a good designer.

Hard works paid off.

Whatever. You get the idea, right?

QUOTE
The layouts that you have deleted have already been approved by myspace staff. Both of my layouts that you've deleted was approved by roxanne. Roxanne as designer would not probably have approved the layouts i made if it wasnt up to par to her requirements, right?

i dont understand you.

QUOTE
When users contributed their work, they were not informed that they were going to be deleted because "people have been getting mad about how layouts have been looking lately". This isnt their fault, you should be thankful that 3000 layouts have been submitted so anyone could use it. It just bothers me that you actually would delete things that has already been approved by a staff member. For the 3000 layouts that you have been deleted, just try comprehend the minutes and the effort that has been used. No matter how brief a person worked on a single layout, It still adds up to a pretty big number.

Again, cb is about quality, not quantity. It’s not the staff's fault. It’s the designer's choice.
No one has to contribute to cb. They can just upload it on imageshack or somewhere. They can make their own website to promote free layouts, and etc.

so yeah, this part is pretty much the same as i told you before. (the first reply)

I think there should have been a longer period of notice beforehand. :('

Besides, you guys might need to check for the official designers and see if they still have the requirements after the mass-cleaning.

^Yes, we are looking at that too. We just can't really go through every official designers because we don't have a list of all the official designers :

If we, the staff, come across one, we will take a peek at their contributions. _smile.gif
