You know what? We should have our own version of American Idol.

How it's gonna work:

People who want to compete will submit recordings of them singing a song via a recording or a video. Six Five judges will choose the top ten contestants. The top ten six contestants wil go through a series of round in which the judges choose a genre/theme for the contestants to sing. (For example, during one round you might have to sing a gospel song.) Throughout the rounds, rather than voting, the judges will choose who they think should go on to the next round. The deadline for submissions of the entry round is August 12th, 2006. Although, this date is subject to change.

Rules:
  • One submission per person, per round.
  • Submissions should be at least 1 minute long.
  • No major editing of the voice recording.
  • No lip synching.
  • In future rounds, you will not be able to use a recording you used in a past round.

  4. Archie (Arjuna Capulong)
  5. Sally (Salcha4u)

I know there are a lot of talented singers out here. CB is a very large community and I've heard some of your singing voices before. C'mon guys don't be afraid to participate.


For those who saw this post when it was first made, I edited this post so that it hopefully looks cleaner and more organized. However, all the past rules and works apply. Hope you like it. -Arjuna

But what do you mean by edited? I have 7 voices singing on this but all of them are mine. I just did it on Audacity. That's a program by the way.

i dont think it would be unfair for you to join as a contestant, but it may be more beneficial to have you as a judge.

well I suppose at this point it whether I want to be fair or not. Not to say I'm the greatest singer in the world, but I have 12 or 13 songs already recorded so I have a huge advantage. But it would be so fun. I'll sleep on it :)

I guess I should go ask the other judges about that. Someone will probably say here when we come with a decision.

psh we would LOVE to have you in the competition. It's not really unfair, in my opinion. Everyone gets a chance, ne?

Anyways back from camp (3-day thing) and uhh I just read the whole topic and Archie's edit of my post. Just to make things clear, songs would at least be 60 seconds but I guess for this preliminaries we can at least have it for 10 seconds.

Oh okay, Guys can we move the deadline someplace else? It turns out I'll be gone Friday which means no time to judge D: Unless... we can discuss things on Saturday but I think I'm sleeping over and won't come back till Sunday...
