you know , this is the reason why it confuses me between practicality , and sophistication. as too what is more effective . ex : U.S. spending 20-bill to incorporate a zero-gravity pen during the 1960`s in order to have some sort of wrting utensils , while the russians simply used pencils .

That's horrible. Do you think the community of CB really needs to see something like that ? Is it going to make our day feel better ?

Both spreads can be modeled mathamatically by the avalible fuel and the rate of transmission, by similar forumlas. The growth can be halted either by reducing transmissions or by reducing fuel. When a house fire is fought, transmissions are reduced. In a hospital in a developed country, transmissions are reduced. However, in a wildfire and an epidemic in a developing country, the fuel is the only thing that can be reduced. They are comparable by mathmatical standards. They are dealt with in the same manners. nature is completely different. i dont know. wildfire spread fquickly at a fast rate base on the atomosphere. wildfire are not preventable. it can happen to any form of nature, anywhere. i mean, what can you prevent it ? You cant block the forest from getting the sunlight from the sun. ![]() |

I'm not not refering to the source, but rather to the method in which both spread, and how both are contained.

oh come on, would u rather have them try and take a hella long time trying to round up dogs in a orderly fashion, and get yelled at cause people started dying from rabies and they didnt work quick enough? its the most efficient method. brutal yes, but its the quickest way to contain the disease Well how about we go kill every one we see to contain the flu. Gah... people these days act like animals are just inanimate objects to throw away. Imagine getting painfully killed kust because someone you don't even know has a spreading disease. That's how the dogs feel. |

In a pandemic, that is exactly what must be done. Certainly, the people would be vaccinated instead of killed, and only people who had contact with an infected person, and the people they had contact with.
However, with dogs, you cannot question them to see what other dogs they have contacted. Therefore, you must assume that all the dogs in a certain area have had contact. As I have said, in a developed nation, vaccination would be the preferred method. However, I doubt china has the vaccinese to vaccinate 50,000 dogs, and therefore the only option was to destroy the animals. |

And esp with rabies, there are obvious signs. And it's not right to kill all the dogs. Come on now, they took people's dogs that were being walked. The walking dogs were perfectly fine walking on a leash along side their owner. Give me one good reason to kill that certain dog. I mean if a dog's coming at you with rabies, that's another story. But to kill someone's dog that they're walking. |

It does not take that much time to question people, since the virus needs a week or two to become contagious. Please realize this is exactly the technique used to eradicate smallpox. I am not making this up.
In this situation, however, it was impossible to question the dogs, and no vaccine was avalible, leaving only one option. And yes, pets would be suspect to exposure as well. You must realize that rabies can take over a year to manifest. A year is a long time to be watching for a rabid dog. You may decide your pet dog could not have rabies and leave him alone with a child, and then the symptoms set in. |
