small fonts + me = help! (and a question about a table), for months now i've been trying to change the ugly bold and large Options

you see, my comments (using small fonts) look like this:


I looked all over and I have no idea what to do to make small font actually look like this:


plus with everything i've done, i somehow made my the yellow table that my comments are in disappear.
i would appreciate any help to get my table back and my comments looking readable.
