Okay, so I did a search and found other more specific topics. So are there any moments in your life where you've felt so proud of yourself for something? An achievement? A decision? Anything. I'll begin by saying what I'm proud of. Every year my family goes camping with my mother's side of the family to a camp on the largest lake in Maine, Moosehead Lake. This happened two years ago. Well, for the past few years me & my cousin (who's 2 years older than me) have been growing apart. Her name is Rebecca. She got a boyfriend and was constantly talking about him and I noticed that she seemed a little..."naughtier", shall I say? But I was glad overall to see my cousin and agreed to sleep in her huge tent with her & her mother's boyfriend's son, Travis. Hey, it was an excuse to get out of my family's camper. (I hate sleeping in places with a lot of people.) Well, I was getting tired and laid down for a bit when I heard a "click". I sat up and looked over at Travis and Becca. They were each holding a Smirnoff. Becca and Travis were both 16-17 and far from the drinking age. It felt so wrong. Becca turned to me and asked me if I wanted one. They apparently had brought an extra. I declined. Becca asked me again, "Kels, are you sure? They're the best!" I wouldn't give in. All those DARE classes really worked on me. "No, Becca." I rolled over in bed, facing the side of the tent, disappointed in the both of them, but more about Becca. I guess, looking back at this, I'm really proud of myself for saying no even though I was tempted to do something to make me and my cousin closer again. Anyone else out there have a story? |

Hmm.
This year I participated in a really big competition (for music - piano), and to be honest, I saw no point in even being in it - it's the biggest one in Canada. And I got even more crushed when I saw that the two BEST performers from my accademy were in my group. And I played in the first round, and, of course completely screwed up the beginning of my first piece, so I thought, "well, that ought to do it." I honestly thought I was out. But I passed! With an equal score of my friends from the academy. But when the guy who announced the results said, "And the next round is on Saturday" (it was Monday that day), I nearly passed out.. I had thought they were next month, and I had to play a huge Liszt piece AND two movements of a sonata, and I had only learned the text of them.. Not to mention I hadn't played them in months. I took the week off school and prepared the pieces in literally four days. I thought I would never make it. So I went to play on the Provincial round, thinking it was my last appearance at the competition. Then I stayed to hear my friend, and when I heard how amazingly she played, I just wanted to get up from there and leave for good.. And then the guy announced the results, and I couldn't believe I was going to National finals! I even got a higher score than my friend whom I ended up hearing! She was shocked though, because I did tell her that I prepared my pieces in four days. (I was happy, even though the other girl from the academy got higher than both of us) So we went to Quebec after that.. I didn't really like my piece for that round, and needless to say, I played it with half a heart, which is never good. We were only 11 people in our group from all over Canada, and I ended up 5th.. Which was bad, but the girl who had beaten me on Provincials got 6th.. And, of course, the other girl got first. But at one point or another, I've beaten them both ![]() Woah, long post. Sorry :( I've never told anyone this whole story.. |

*Getting my license and car was a big accomplishment for me. It took me like 3 years between the permit and the provisional. So I was really happy and proud of myself for finishing that.
*Might sound stupid, but proud of myself for making smarter decisions lately. Either not dating anyone or picking someone that is good for me. And just getting my life together after dropping out of highschool. Things are really starting to come together and I'm happy. |

Woah, long post. Sorry :( I've never told anyone this whole story.. Congrats! I always wanted to play piano. I've been Who's Who in Americas High Schools in sports and Academics for 3 years now and got invited to go to D.C. and meet the President. I also got voted in Student Council. :D And I saved a woman's life one time. She was in a car accident right by my home and no one was home and my house is the only house for miles and there's about 1 car per hour that goes by, lol. So yeah I heard it and ran up my driveway and called 911 and I helped her away from the car because I was afraid it might blow up. She was bleeding really bad and the doctors said if I wasn't there she may have bled to death. So, yeah. I guess that's something to be proud of. :) She has 2 kids now. |

getting into this program. the Hayden Astrophysics Program. i thought i didn't really like science at first 'cause of 6th grade, but it helped me realze that there are more subjects to science other than physics and other stuff that i learned then. and the program taught me to be more outgoing and smarter in science. it helped me through 7th grade science and helped me get a 97 on the Earth Science Regents (the highest in the law academy in my school!)
oh, yeah. and finding like 200 bands that noone knows. ![]() but i'm proud of that because i got to introduce some of my friends to my music so that they don't like rap/whatever's on Z100 these days as much :) |

I'm proud of everything I do in life. If I wasn't what would be the point of living?
Anyways...I guess what I'm most proud of is coming out of my shell this year and meeting new people. When I first started my school I was really shy and awkward. It just all started off really badly. I was depressed for two years because I had no friends. I'd cry and just sink lower and lower into this hole I dug, sheltering myself from everyone. I'm pround of not conforming to anything I don't believe in, and trying to be a good person. Yey! |

Angelina Taylor, that's really really cool. I certainly know that feeling when you get somewhere you haven't even dreamed of being in.
I feel really really proud whenever I play flute. Flute is actually the one thing I can say I am good at. I didn't begin to realize that until this year, even until the end of the year from audition chairs judged by the district and such. I began to be a lot more confident and sure of myself, and that's when I realized that this is what I'm good at. And it's not just from talent, I did a lot of practicing, private lessons, hard work, and experience doing different things. Every Solo and Ensemble, Honor Band, or other extra curricular/optional activity I go to adds to my experience and every single time I learn at least one thing new. It is probably the one thing that makes my self-esteem go up. People are starting to believe in me, like my band director, other instructors from different schools, and I'm glad to be recognized by my peers and people that are actually from different schools. It's a great feeling, and I would never forget those proud feelings that I have when I play flute. One other thing is, I'm proud of how I have matured about some things. I know this world isn't only about boy-girl relationship and there are a lot of other things to do and accomplish to make myself happier. And so far I am doing pretty well. |

I'm proud of having a $50 bill and not spending it. Of all the times I've been tempted to bring it with me shopping but didn't. |

^ Haha, I've had $70 dollars for a month now and haven't spent it on anything like video games or clothes. It's a miracle.

I'm really proud of keeping my grades up this past year. I kept up a 4.33 GPA, and made it onto the Principal's List. Got a shiny plaque and everything. Gosh. I was so excited about it. [;

Going to college. I was the first on my mom side of the family to go so it was a proud moment for them and me.
Recently it's been my decision to get out of my dead beat major to pursue a major I have a passion for. It was a huge decision but one I'm very glad I made. |
