I'm assuming it was closed because her friends were getting out of hand with their comments, but really the topic should have been left open and they both should have gotten verbal warnings. I reopened it.

Holly, no offense, but you even joined in with them. I realize they're your RL friends and all, but we're trying to prove that as staff we aren't biased towards certain members.

Okay.. I'm just full of complaints today. My apologies. Buuuut I don't understand why Suzette re-opened this topic when 1) Krista had already closed it 2) her justification was that this original topic is over two years old. The girl that posted the new version posted in the old one after it was closed - it should've stayed.. closed. mellow.gif Or she could've merged it, no? I don't see what the problem about old topics is.

Sure. I think it was merged by the girl who started the topic because Krista had found the link and posted it before she closed it. Hrm. And uhh.. has anyone looked in the Boys' Locker lately? whistling.gif

i closed it and gave the link for the other one because it was only a few pages long. and sandra had posted in it a month ago, i think. so i didn't think we should have 2 of the same topics, when one is only about 2 pages long.

i am no longer on staff because i don't think i'm active enough.

i didn't think it was right to take up a slot on the moderating team when i would be taking an indefinete break from cB.

the reason i will not be a good mod now is because that break is about to resume. School starts, unfortunately.

also, is cB boring for you?

just wondering ... _smile.gif

mmm.

it's not quite as interesting as before. debate has begun to bore me. there are seldom any good debates left. And debate was the main reason i came to cb.

the guy fawkes character seems intersting though. i'm not sure what i think of him/her yet. we'll see, i guess.

Someone please inform me when there was a rule instated that duplicate topics were okay if the previously created thread was old? Because I can't, for the life of me, find it. Anywhere.

Julia moved the STD Haters thread into the Sandbox.. Are we back to doing that now? I don't see why she doesn't just close it.. mellow.gif

A while back, our compromise was to move "Club threads that were pointless" to the sandbox. I figured that since that thread had gotten so long and people were talking and enjoying themselves, I'd move it back there. I didn't move it back there because I was "afraid of hurting their feelings" if that's what you got, because I'm sure their feelings wouldn't have been hurt even if I did close it. Thanks for the feedback though. flowers.gif I really appreciate the fact that someone's actually posting in here.

And thanks, Naomi. hug.gif

Yeah, but I thought awhile back in this thread we decided that nothing like that should be moved to the Sandbox. mellow.gif Here.

check the bylaws forum.
But that thread of yours was never a formalized bylaw, if that's what you're referring to.

well, i suppose, but people do mention a sort of "leave it up to the moderators" precedence, which is what i assume is in effect

I never realized that was "official" or anything.

I guess I'll go close the STD's topic if you want. It doesn't really matter to me. mellow.gif
Okay, nvm. Jesus closed it anyway. Why'd it get moved to health, though? Eh, whatever.

That was placed after Jusun made the whole 'should the Lounge be unmoderated?' topic. It's reasonable to allow duplicate topics to be made if the previous one is really old. I guess it's not a specific rule, but if it bothers you, I can add it to the Forum Rules.
