Yeah, good idea. But I, Kristina, and Brenden think that we should get the details out before we post a topic

arjuna- I was thinking that, but then I thought, link to what, exactly?

Link to the topic, of course. Assuming you guys are doing this in a topic.

Pin the topic? We can make that possible...

How many people would actually sign the petition? Some of the people on here are pro-spam

Well that's not exactly the kind of people we want to deal with, lol. I did like the idea of an unmodded fourm, just cause I think that'd be fun, but we need some kind of control. Being pro-spam for the enire forum isn't a good idea.

I thought it was a crazyashell idea.

Okay, you guys, I really wanna go to sleep.
Can we just hold this up for a couple hours? Make sure it doesn't turn a gazillion pages long so I don't have to read all of it.

Of course. This is a community. The members should definitely have a say on how to improve it.

Not only is it fun, but it's a good way for us to hear what you have to say. All in one nice topic too. wink.gif

I think you guys should make the topic on one issue first. A whole bunch of issues would probably get unorganized in a single thread.

I'm not so sure about creating a whole committie since there's a by-laws subforum.

Not on the spamming issue, but on the original topic--

I understand that the moderators have been told by Jusun to not be so strict (something along those lines), and they are a lot more lenient now than before. However, it seems that although posting guidelines are supposedly more lax, warning seems to be more rampant (or so this thread says).

I haven't seen Kathleen spam, but she does post a lot. Even if you wanted to consider her posts spam, would the quality (or lack thereof) or quantity be on par with the old spam fests on cB? Hardly. If the rules are supposed to be more permissive than before, than the consequence should not, I believe, come more quickly, which it seems is the case now. Mods used to be hesitant to even give out verbal warnings, but now they don't even give them out?

....

I'll let that speak for itself.

Also, someone said early on that everyone should be modded, and they were clearly just joking around. However, I know that some members have had issues with the moderating team as a whole--hell, I was one of them, and may possibly still be.

Ultimately, the problem is that it's the same general group of people holding power. Yes, I understand that under the new bylaws, the new moderator hiring process supposedly (finally) includes input from the community, but what it boils down to is that it's still the headstaff and administrators choosing. Out of those top moderators, how many of them are in touch with members outside of the actual forums? I know it's not a requirement, but it does make for better morale, right? How many of them will go and chat up with newer or lesser known members? Again, it's not required, but it would sure as hell make the mods seem to be less elitist to the community, on both counts.

Because there does exist a backstage that is there for organizational purposes, the moderators grow closer to each other and due to that, sometimes (especially in the past) form pockets of regular members who are unhappy with the decision making (namely hiring).

btw, I suck at putting my thoughts into words when I'm tired so don't hold it against me. ;_;

Um.. bylaws? ._.

edit - Aw, fu
ck my post was on the bottom of the page. *sad*

Did anyone beside myself actually read this? Anna brings up a great point. I've been reading up on what you guys have been creating here. I do like the fact that we've got a definition of spam now.

No. I dont want it to be in there. But that is truly where it would belong.

I want this to go through. And it needs attention for it too.

^That's what I'm thinking. I don't want all this planning to go to waste.

I want it to actual impact the community.
But...can I make it? I kinda planted the idea. But quotes from my partner-in-crime's will be included.

Goddamn now I sound like a fukcing whining diva.
Ughh..
