Without spam, cb would be boring, especially since rarely anyone makes interesting topics worth reading anymore.

well, when i see a new forum. and people are talking out of subject about something totally irrelevent. i dont go, "man, they're spamming, im not gonna join THIS froum" if anything it gives off the impression that its not uptight.

it honestly doesnt bother me, maybe im biased. but when other people do it also it honestly just does not bother me. i just dont care. spam topics? yeah those should always be closed. but just regular posts? who cares.

and spam hasnt even been that much of problem as of lately in my opinion.

but when you ask does it make it more entertaining or not, or more interesting. well imagine cb with out all the comedic drama, imagine cb without the "hewee" stuff for example, imagine cb without all the jason fights and the arguments and the controversies, the few crazy members you come across that posts just some crazy shit. ......honestly it would be a little souless, no matter how much you deny it "spam"(i hate calling it that sometimes) gives the forum a little bit of personality. some of the moments that i hear people call the "Best moments" on cb, were basically...."spam". cant really say it wasnt haha.

but on the otherhand, now ive discovered chat, and i actualy do have less of an urge to have conversations on the forum.

Spamfest =/= interesting drama. It's not even drama. I hate spamfests. I don't mind topics that allow you to talk about something sensible. But people constantly posting the most random posts in topics annoy me. What should be done? Don't know. It will always exist. We try to reduce it, but there are always rebels. Being lenient allows people to take advantage. Being strict brings people to complain and repeat that cB is boring and uninteresting. I honestly don't know.

I ABSOLUTELY agree with mona that spamfests =/= interesting drama. it is just a bunch of losers, and they are the SAME losers time and again. And frankly, i wish they would go away. Once is funny, twice is rebellious, Three times is a pain in the f**king ass.

Now, i have NO problems with spam in individual threads, such as the STD thread last night, because it doesnt cause problems for other people. It doesnt shove other threads down the boards, it doesnt create a bunch of hassle for the mods (which inevitabley spirals into them being either too lenient or unreasonably strict), and if the thread serves no real purpose in the first place (again, STD thread), then it might as well just be fun. My single happiest memory on cb (The Fab Five) was a result of one such thread. We only get problems when spam threads multiply.

So, in short, spam in some threads, sure, why not, will happen, and can happen. 398470524572 0487 moronic spam threads abou tpeople eating assoreted animals, PATHETIC.

I don't really have a problem with it. However, if there are pages of spam, it can get old after a while... but it really depends on what people are talking about. Some of it is pretty entertaining, to say the least.

Just keep posting on the other account.. Other members can't see your warning level and it doesn't affect your posting. When you prove that you're not going to spam anymore and show improved behavior, your warning level will be lowered again.
