well me and my friends go shopping at abercrombie, hollister, AE, Pac Sun, Aeropostale, Express, wet seal... well you get the point... and some girls at my neighborhood tell me i goto where all the preps go... well, i think preps are not that bad because i'm already half prep or more but is it really bad?? because some people just hate hate preps and stuff i'd call myself more girly than prep... well do you think preps are bad or their okay or are they cool??

it depends on the prep :)
if the prep has a good personality, then the meaning prep wouldn't register in my mind. if they had a bad personality on the other hand.... |

I pretty much only consider someone a prep if they're stuck-up and think they're better than everyone else.
But shopping at any place you like for clothes you enjoy to wear doesn't make you a prep. |

yeah.. well if you see in movies or something, preps are like popular, and their always mean to people and stuck up and stuff.. well i'm not mean except to the people who hate me and stuff soo.. i'm all right.... right??
well some people told me they beat you up in middle/high school... o.O |

I don't think "preps" are the people who usually get into fights. At least not in my school.
In any case, why care so much of what others think about you? If people are going to judge you beacuse you see, "preppy" then they're missing out on making a new friend. Just do what you do and be yourself. Labels are overrated. |

I think it just really depends on the way you carry yourself. Just be who you are. Don't let your clothing determine that.
Most young preppy people tend to be good looking and dress nice and for some reason (immaturity) think they can be pricks to everyone who isn't. That's what is usually bad about them.. eh. Who cares. |

it is not bad to be prep, you should be proud of it. but just because you shop at the prep labels does not mean that you are a prep. you just dress preppy.
prep is an attitude. i believe the only type of bad person is a poseur. |

I think it's more personality, not the way you dress.
But maybe that's just me...I wouldn't define a prep as one personality or another. |

don't sweat it, i shop at all those places you shop at. just cuz you shop at the " prep " stores doesn't mean you are one. i mean, i shop there cuz the tops they have are made with a more comfortable material. but you should know that those people that told you this .. they have probably shopped there themselves!

Bah-if you're personality is preppy then there's nothing wrong with that. Clothes shouldn't make you a prep. I myself don't label because there are too many exceptions, but for the most part the preps I know are cool.

I don't care whether or not preps are good people. Their attitude towards life bothers me. Their image and clothing annoy me. And so does (most) of their speech.
So really, whether they're bad, good, in the middle, it doesn't matter to me. They disturb me before I even get to know them, and that's that. |

i think it's kind of judgemental to classify "preps" as bad. a group of people can't fit strictly under "bad" or "good," or even "preps, jocks, goths, skaters, punks" and so on. |
