I'd rather spend 10 minutes straightening my hair every day. But if I had the money, I would get a straight perm.

^ I have thick wavy hair, that curls underneath. That's enough for me to want to get a straight perm.

Oh, and has anyone ever used the japanese "chi" hair straightner? My mom has one, and I always use it. It's about $100 dollars, but it is defanitely worth it.

It depends on where you go and what area you live in. I live in new york and I think a couple of places do it for around 150-200. I got one done last year for 150. But other salons do range from 300.

I didn't mean to offend you or anything. ermm.gif it just seemed like your hair wouldn't be real hard to manage I guess since you said it takes you only 10 minutes to straighten it.

I got a Japanese straightening...it is really good, and doesn't hurt at all.

The price depends on your legnth of hair.

I think there are at home kits now that boast results as good as a japanese straight perm. They're probably a lot cheaper than a salon, though you would most likely and very much want help from a trusted friend if you pick one up.

I miss cheap asian beauty salons. I got glamoured up in the PI for under $50. I can hardly get a decent haircut with that here :/

You could get one of those perm for around$200.
It really depends on how long your hair is.

I could get it for free, because my dad used to be a salonist, and he has all the materials to do it for me, but he wouldn't. Cause he said that its bad for my hair. :(

Daaamn. Only 10 minutes ? _unsure.gif It takes me about an hour and half to an hour to do my hair.

I also really wanted a straight perm, but it's so costly and can be really damaging if you don't take proper care of your hair.

^ my friend got a perm and she told me that it lasts really long so basically when your natural hair grows out its really worth it she got it in the begining of the year and by the end of they year it was still SUPER straight .

I'm not even allowed to straighten my hair. T__T My mom doesn't allow me to. She says that when you grow older, your hair will look damaged but I don't quite believe her because she hasn't tried herself, and she doesn't appear to have any friends that have had their hair straightened.

If I could straighten my hair, I'd rather get a hair straightener, since my hair isn't wavy or curly. It's pretty straight but not as straight as I want it to. I tie my hair everyday. @.@ I guess that's why.
