Ahh; I dunno, i was just looking at these posts and most of the people here are asian. i think. i dunno im just trying to see whos asian and whos not. just wondering :D

But geographically..we're also Asian..since the Philippines is in ASIA. SOUTHEAST ASIA to be exact.

Pacific Islanders: Tonga, Micronesia..etc.

Actually there are two types of filipinos. One filipino is pure asian, taking it to be that they were on the island before King Philip dominanted the Philippines. The other is pacific islander, maybe mixed with asian heritage (like chinese blood) and some spanish blood, you get the whole idea when the spanish took control of the Philippines. And yes, Philippines is classified as Asians, otherwise Japan would be Pacific Islanders; take it to be that we are apart of Asia. If you have an Asian Avenue, filipinos on the web are classified to be asians there too. I'm asian no matter what, I'm filipino but I still have chinese blood within me.

I disagree. Having Spanish Blood doesn't make you Pacific Islander.

just because some are mixed doesn't make them Pacific Islanders, "pacific islanders" is just another sub-category of an specific ethnicity that some people confuse it with others ethnicities. pinch.gif happy. haha

Oh my God. Filipinos are asian too because it is in Asia and it is labeled as being in the continent ASIA. It's the same stupid thing with people from Taiwan calling themselves Taiwanese and not Chinese. Taiwan is in CHINA so you are CHINESE.

It's that simple.

I mean, it's okay to call yourself Taiwanese (I guess, but why?) or Pacific Islander (then the Japanese should be able to call themselves that too) but it's stupid to deny you're chinese or asian.

The people just want to have their own "name" instead of just being classified as asian.
