Ahh; I dunno, i was just looking at these posts and most of the people here are asian. i think. i dunno im just trying to see whos asian and whos not. just wondering :D

well, i dont know if most people here consider filipino asian, but i don't lol. (pacific islander)
but if you consider it asian, then well i guess i am. lol. half at least. lol

i'm only saying that because i know some people consider filipino asian...

that's what i'm saying! and i don't know why people are like oh you're asian? and i'm like.. no i'm filipino, and they say, "same thing." uhhh no. it's not. not like it'd be a problem if i was or anything, but it's really different if you ask me lol.

yea im not asian but people say i do look asian lol this guy knew me for 3 years and thot i was asian.


if filipinos are not asian why do filipinos at my skool call themselves the "asian crew" and join the asian club?

hmmmm curious..

yeah my friend had a whole arugment in school if filipinos were asian.... and yeah i do agree we're labled as 'pacific islanders' although we are part of 'south east asia' wacko.gif

i consider it pacific islander. i used to say asian, too but people are like wtf no it's not. now i'm stuck on pacific islander. but i don't really care. i just say filipino now. haha.

i would say im asian, even though im filipino.

haha (read this if you want)
filipinos can be considered either way, its all up to that certain person
1/2 of filipinos say their asian while the other 1/2 says they're pacific islander

Technically, geographically, yeah we are pacific islanders because duh, we live on an island on the pacific ocean. haha
HOWEVER, yeahh its true that many other asian nations like Japan can also be Pacific islanders. and yea yea yea, (asked the Dad about it,) because i got hella confused we are SouthEast Asian also.

However, historically, we are asian, because of our many mixed heritages, such as malaysian and chinese decent.
So i mean its all based on the person and what they wanna be considered.

soo yeah.. i just go by both
haha everytime i would fill out that chart for SAT's or something, i would fill in both biggrin.gif whistling.gif haha

^dude Philippines is counted as an Asian country. Filipinos are both asian and pacific islander...

Yes we are. I grew up there and I was taught that we are southeast asian. If you call us Pacific Islanders...then so are you because Japan is composed of islands.
But I guess it's okay if some filipinos prefer to classify themselves as Pacific Islanders..But I do call myself asian.
