Clearly, most of the "physical" stuff isn't worth killing yourself over. It's superficial.
And maybe that emotional stuff doesn't seem like it is hard for guys ("seems the other way around") because you don't take it too seriously. Maybe, our culture doesn't take it seriously. Maybe, we live in a society which puts a de-emphasize on the male emotional experience. Maybe that's why so many more men kill themselves than women. But, my point was simple: If you're going to say that self-injury is a phenomena explained by the social pressures and pain felt by women, then the reality of male suicide, in comparison with female suicide, should be, to your theory, a rude awakening.

I'll stick to my guns: The social stigmas and standards held to men are far more serious and plentiful than those held to women. For this reason, I feel that it is "easier" to be a girl.

You guys don't have to deal with the pressure of being beautiful all the time. I've seen guys with acne that are so much more easily accepted than the girl who tries and tries to be accepted, but nobody will, because she's not absolutely adorable.

Whoa whoa whoa. Are you kidding me!? Guys care about how they look just as much as girls do. And it's a girl's choice to care or not to care about how they look. Not all of them are under "pressure" or "stress". People do what they feel comfortable doing, whether they're male or female... just because your female doesn't mean you are "under pressure to be beautiful all the time" or vice versa.

Did you know that the majority of people who self-injure are females? Yep... they are. You wanna know why? Because females, being as all of the females models put up on TV are totally "glamtastic," are held to such high standards, that only the wealthiest people can meet.

What the hell are you talking about? A majority of people who "self-injure" are females? A majority of people who try to commit suicide and fail are females. If that's the statistic you're using. A majority of people who succeed in committing suicide are males. And that doesn't have anything to do with gender. Everyone has their own mind, female or male. If you choose to "self-injure" yourself, it's because of your own personal problems, and I highly doubt gender matters at all.

As a result, a lot of females are rejected, just because they aren't abercrombieamericaneaglehollisterslutfacedprepchicks.

I think that it's equal. Truthfully. There are pros and cons of both.

Girls-

Pros:
- More than half the shopping mall is just for you
- You get to be pampered (door holding, chair pulling)
- No guy can hit you
- You can slap guys without consequence
- Lesbians are hot

Cons:
- Your period and menopause
- Being physically weaker than guys
- Being more than twice as likely to be raped
- Double-standards
- Pregnancy/childbirth

Guys-

Pros:
- Physically stronger
- No period, no menopause
- No pregnancy/childbirth
- Thought to be dominant over females
- Less likely to be raped

Cons:
- Barely anything to do at the mall
- Can't hit girls even if they hit you first
- Gay males are scorned more than females
- Responsible for making girls feel like princesses
