I doubt it. North Korea isn't a direct thread to the United States. Given the conflict in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq—and the unpopularity of both, especially the war in Iraq—I like to think that our leadership would be intelligent enough to not press the offensive with the DPRK.
Of course, I never thought we'd attack and occupy Iraq. I can see a situation in which we have a lame-duck president and/or Congress declare war on North Korea, possibly even to boost public opinion and give the American people something to really behind. |
