i think i'm going to st. thomas aquinas. it's like less than one mile from my house!!!

Hey, my brother is gonna be a freshman there this fall.

Me personally.... ever since 6th grade I've wanted to go to MIT.... but recently I decided that I want a double major in Computer Sciences of some sort (graphics, web design, programming, I really haven't been able to narrow it down to one, yet), and Music. But MIT doesn't offer music...... so It looks like my best bet is either Carnagie Mellon or Washington University of St. Louis.....

I would have love to have gone to Spelman but they didn't offer the major I was interested in. Its a great school though.

Yeah that seems to be my problem. I can't find many schools that interest me that provide Journalism.

I want to go to Evergreen State College, I went there for a College Ed field trip in the 7th grade and it was AWESOME. Most of my teachers call it the "hippie school".They`re the home of the Gooey Ducks and they mostly offer classes involving the arts. Its only about an hour away from where I live and I want a career in visual arts. The guy who made the Simpsons and Futurama, Matt Groening, attended that college. Evergreen State grades students differently than most colleges. They don't give out letter grades, only individual evaluations.

I'm going to University of Toronto (Scarborough campus) =]

Why? It's the only University I got accepted to, which is strange 'cause it's the most competitive school I have applied for (aside from Queens). & after getting rejection letters from a few, I didn't think I would've gotten accepted there. But I'm not complaining because it is a good school and it's my second choice. If all goes well, off to student exchange program in my second year for several months! Pshhh, Guelph now. UTSC offers exchange programs worldwide =D

Haha who doesn't?

i kno so many people that dislike USC. i visited there during school and i fell in love with it out of the 11 others that i saw.

ucla wasnt so great because you walk so much. it takes like 25 minutes to walk from the entrance to the fields.

not cool.

but its a beautifull campus too.

If you're interested in going to a UC school, my friend just graduated from UCSD majoring in Journalism.

But yeah. I live in San Diego, CA and I really wanna get away. At least to UCSF or UC Irvine. To me, the farther, the better. But I guess my opinion will change as I get older. But I really wanna broaden my horizons when I go to college.

Plus, my cousin once told me "Choose a college that isn't too far away that it's a big deal when you go home, but is far enough that your parents won't go knocking on your door."

Wise words. Wise words. laugh.gif

Kathleen how about Boston College? It is a pretty diverse school and jounalism is it's 3rd most popular bachelor's degree. I'm not sure if it would interest you because I do not know much about you but it is a suggestion. I have friends that go there and enjoy it.

There is also Academy of Art University. They accept 100% of the applicants. They have graphic design and I may be imagining this but I feel you are interested in it?

If none of the above interest you you can always go to college board. They have profiles on all sorts of colleges.

I hope that helped. _smile.gif

I'm seeing a college counselor tomorrow in order to hopefully get an idea of where I'd like to go.

I have to take test scores and transcripts, so I got one today, and my test scores are really funny. All 3 PSAT scores are on there, and it's amazing how much they've improved. I went from a 47 on the verbal (yeah, what?) to a 690 on the SAT. Plus, math went from low 50s to 60(0) on my most recent (P)SATs (I got the equivolent of the same score on both). Although, oddly, my writing went down. Graduation test scores are amyusing too, because i got perfect or near perfect scores on everything involving writing or social studies, but math and science were much worse.

I'd love to go to Stanford. I want to go to a school that offers a good pre-med program because I know I'm going off to med school. Does anyone know of any other good colleges to go to if you're interested in pre-med? Thanks! I'm a junior in high school - I really need to start thinking about these things... XD.gif

Hey, thanks! Both of those schools are very far away from Wisconsin, where I live. Hah, I've got to be as far away from here as possible.
