I'm sort of a mess when it comes to self confidence. People at school don't understand why I am so unsure of my appearance, they tell me I'm good-looking and all that, but I sure don't feel it.
The reason for this? I have a dry skin condition called eczema (there is no cure for it) & I have some cases of it on my face around my mouth. It causes me to become really insecure whenever I have to look people straight in the face, or even talk to them. Do you have any insecurities, or problems with self-confidence? |

We, as humans, tend to be insecure. I know not one human being who is totally comfortable with themselves. You are your biggest critic. I am nearing certain that with time, you will become comfortable within your own skin.

No one is really 100% confortable with themselves.
I become insecure of what I wear sometimes.. like when I walk out the house with a new style..I wonder if anyone`s going to laugh or make fun or think mean thoughts. |

Everyone has some insecurities in their life. I think mine would be with my height considering I'm very short, and maybe my weight sometimes.

nope i'm sexi n i'll tell anyone that thinks different to bug off...
i have eczema also but its in the crease of my arms. I have found something that makes it go away and i tell anyone that has it to use this. Go to your local drug store or Walmart or k-mart or whatever and get {{{1% hydrocortisone cream}}} I promise you it works. Put it on there anytime it starts to itch and it will take about a week maybe a little longer but it shouls go away...and if u have any flareups put some on it as soon as you notice it starting to itch. Well it works for me...but i've had eczema since i was like 10 years old and it was red and it cracked my skin and it itches all the time but this is the only thing i've found...so GOOD LUCK sweetie...and for now on start looking at your self in the mirror and say "I am Beautiful" "I am Sexy" "I am desirable" ... I used to be realy self concious too... |

Baah who isn't? Self-esteem is a teenager's biggest battle these days. Well, I know in the female sense it is, anyways. I can't stand my eyes, my [lack of] height, my Bigfoot feet, my weight, nor my skin. It happens. Hopefully one day will come when we wake up and magically become comfortable in our own skins.

People consider me as one of the most insecure people that they have ever know =[ I'm not proud of it, but I guess I'm just this way. I have no self confidence about myself. So when it comes to school, I tend to freak out too often and even if I know the things, I will blank out. Which is why people say that I'm smart, but I just need to stop slacking off. If I keep on paying more attention in school, I will improve. But then my attention span isn't that great either. Thank goodness I thought off all the dilemmas this year though! It has been my most insecure year because of someone who was really important to me but didn't feel the same way. & stuff like that. In some way, it has made me even more insecure about my personality, appearance and every little bit of me. I just wish I can start my life all over again. Still as insecure as ever =[

But I read online that there is a chance of scaring & stretch marks and stuff.. and seeing that it's on my face.. that wouldn't be good. but maybe i'll try it out soon. thanks a bunch though<3 |

I feel the same way. I'm extremely self concious but I believe I'm good at hiding it & shit.
People never undertstand & give me lectures on how I should see my self ALLL THE WAY UP HERE. They don't get it. I don't like to look at people straight in the face. |

A lot of people say I am so pretty, but I hate the way I look! I'm awkwardly tall, I have no chest, muscular legs, and bony arms. Plus, my eyebrows are hideous, and i have a few zits on my chin (which i usually cover up, but whatever). I rarely wear make-up, because I have no clue how to apply it, but that's a whole other story.
I'm very self concious, but I try not to let it show. Grr, screw todays conformist society... |

Yeah, i find that sometimes it's better to hide your insecurities.. because maybe that'll make your flaws less noticable.
that's my theory at least. ![]() |

We all tend to point out the flaws we have, it's human nature.

My self confidenece is like....0000000000000001%.
I have that too! But it's on my underarms. Hurts to shave. Gah. But, we all have flaws. Some just like to pay a lot more attention to them compared to others. |

I'm insecure with material things. Like getting my hair done, and having this and that. But I come to realize that those things don't matter.

Yeah I'm extremely self-conscious. We can't always depend on confidence that isn't there so I try my best. If I feel horrible about it I go to friends.

Well, I cannot relate to your skin condition. I'm sorry :/.
I am, however, extremely self-conscious. I tug at my shirt when I'm nervous because I think my stomach is showing, or I simply want to hide it; I pull my hair in my face, or just put my hands on it to cover this or that; I also keep my hands around my neck to hide my double-tripple chin; I keep my legs close to me and my arms crossed (when not doing the aforementioned crap) to hide my chest; I wear dark clothing, as it's supposed to be the most 'flattering' for 'heavy' girls; I mutter when speaking to others and am usually not understood; I never wear heels or skirts or dresses or short-sleeve shirts. Yeah, that's all I can think of for now. I'm just extremely awkward. |

I used to hate being tall because people would stare at me, but now I like it.
I know someone with eczema but her skin cleared up, so maybe it will for you too. And no one who really cares about you will care that your skin looks dry on your face. After all, they didn't befriend you on looks. |
