Nate. He's incredible and puts so much thought into what he posts. I think that type of intellectualism would be a huge bonus to the moderating team. Especially since Michael stepped down. The People Staff aren't just supposed to be here to close topics, we're supposed to (and I realize that I've been slacking a lot in this department) create stimulating topics and respond in likewise manner. Nate *is* that guy.

Kathleen, she's very active. She abides by the Community Guidelines. And she was once an admin/advisor, giving her moderator experience.

Anyhow, personally, I haven't really seen anyone who particularly stands out from the rest of the cB community. There are those who COULD be considered for a mod position, but I don't find any particularly outstanding.

HAHAHA!
do you guys remember the time when we were like, orgying back in forum games, and i left, and jordan IMed me saying 'we need you in the orgy' and my brother got it?

HAHAHAHAHAHA

good times.

yea, mod nate. discussion seems uneccessary, really

I remember those. At the moment, I think we're more in need of design staff or just blog staff in general, more so than people staff.

I think that if the staff is going to hire soon, a different style of applications/nominations should be instated. While I liked the idea of nominations, I do think applications should also be considered.

As for members who would make good mods, I can't think of anyone actually, not even myself. While there are members who have been of staff before, I don't think them coming back and being active again and gaining popularity entitles them to have their job back.

I'm not really into the whole application thing. Some people who make good leaders and hard workers can't write a resume for crap.

For example, my father is the highest paid Hotel Engineering Director in NY, although when it comes to writing his reports and reviews, he can't do that, he needs someone else to speak on his behalf.

i think we should do applications. any people who want to become moderators should be able to explain to the staff why they should be hired.

But sometimes a person deserves it who isn't always thought of by staff. Thats why I liked the application plus the 2 or 3 yes's from staff.

I think if possible (and I apologize if this has already been mentioned), have a hybrid process. Why can't there be both app's and nominations?

I also in a sense, think of an application as sort of a quasi contract. Meaning - I'm such and such and I think I would be good on such and such staff because I such and such and contribute such and such. That way, once the moderating process is complete and the such and such person doesn't do any of the aforementioned such and suches... well. I don't know.

Man... that paragraph made so much sense to me when I typed it but now, as I re-read it, it looks ridiculous.

applications always seem to turn from "one paragraph on how you would help cb"

into multipule paragraphs of "i love cb so much i couldn't stand just putting one paragraph about how much i care about cb"

most people in the past totally ignored the question, and just said something nice about cB and about themselves.

I agree with Rebecca. What I think is ideal is to have both applications and nominations. The applications would be carried out in its usualy fashion. If there is someone the staff deems to be an excellent candidate and does not apply, then he/she would also be considered. Simple.
