I really hate the fact that everyone is so hung up on her. Did you ever stop to think how fake EVERYONE on tv is? Duh. I think she has talent, it's just misused because of stupid record dealers and directors, etc. Punk was what was popular. So she sang punk. There isnt anything wrong with that. Why does everybody have to make such a big deal outta everything?

Avril is definitely not punk as everyone is trying to point out. Not even close, and not real. The hard-core purists and fans of old bands such as The Clash would cringe at that fact.
If you try to look back on her career, she started out singing country and folk music. When she got discovered by record execs, they knew the country thing won't fly. So they're like, hey let's write her some bubble gum catchy lyrics and dress her in cargo pants, worn t-shirt, and Chucks, and market her as "punk". The underground has been doing it for a while, so lets sell to the masses and create this new trend. So not only Avril is fake, but a marketing tool as well. Nothing new, really. And her music sucks. Never liked her since day one. |

i like avril...i've liked her since the beginning. she's a little mean but it's just her being upfront and "in your face-ish" to people and so she's honest. except that one time when she said "i never said i was punk" in one magazine then goes on another and says "i'm punk." she's prettttyyyy! i like her clothes and her straight straight hair and especially her eyes =]. and her new video don't tell me is cool lol. so i am an avril fan and not afraid to admit it, thank you very much!

i like Avril's song. And i don't care if shes "punk" or "poser". on the tie thing..i disagree: she has the right to be angry at people copying what shes wearing. Would you like it if 100 people dressed like you?? I'd kill everyone of them...thats like LITERALLY stealing to me =/ . im just speaking my mind. so dun't hate

her songs are cool and i don`t mind what she says... i like her songs and i don`t really have to like her.. i think she`s okay.. and a lot of people say she is a poser but when i went to a music store... her CD was sold out.. so i don`t know.. anyways... if you ask me... any "punk" band has the image of hatred, wildness, and rudeness... so why blame avril of what she does to her fans? and i`ve met a lot of "punk" people who were mostly sarcastic and mean toward people so it doesn`t really matter... i mean i`m like that at times but hey.. who isn`t?
 .. oh also... when people say she can`t play guitar live and lies about knowing how to play a guitar... think about britney spears and other people who lip sings on stage LIVE... yeah... marinate your mind on that... |

shes a bit of a poser, but i dont dislike her as much as a lot of people do... she atleast brought punk public in pop music before everyone else and while that may not really be her, she wasnt following a trend of other celebs
