There's this guy that use to have a thing for one of my best friends..nd they just randomly stopped talking to each other..nd now i kinda want to get to know him. he's cute and hes seems really nice. i met him once at a soccer game awhile ago..nd then about 2 weeks again he sent me a friend request on facebook to be my friend. i really want to start talking to him and let him know that i want to get to know him more nd hang out but how should i tell him that without seeming too forceful or anything?

Don't use the word "confront" or "forceful". Just talk to him, and don't be nervous about it. He has to be a friend before anything more. But make sure your friend doesn't have feelings for him. That could cause a bit of trouble.
