Okay, so my problem is that I can't start conversations. I mean, like when you try to think of something to talk about, there's nothing to talk about! I'm not like too shy I guess... Because I know like what tone to use and crap, but I really don't have anything I can say to start conversations. I don't wanna go up to some random person and say, "hey.. uhm... hi, ummm, what's um up?" Because I mean how friendly is that? NOT VERY. So I guess what I'm looking for here is topics of conversation that are good to talk about with people you don't know.

Well... think of it this way. What would you want someone to talk to you about?
Think of the most popular topics that people discuss. Movies, celebrities, events? If they live nearby, maybe you can talk to them about something that just recently happened... "You know the Smiths just moved out? Do you have any idea who's moving in?" But try to be a bit more interesting than that... Or you can walk up to them with a compliment like "Hey i love your earrings! Did you get them at [posh store]?" But don't top it with too much sugar or you'll seem too fake, though. Good luck~ |

its a skill that takes practice... you don't just instantly start talking to people... it's something you develope by talking more and more... hmmm, ask questions about things that you are intrested in... talk about things that you are passionate about... i know that there is nothing worse than talking to someone about something that doesnt realy matter to them

perhaps you should talk about something that interests you. See if they like it. Look for something about or on the person that you like....and compliment them or ask them about it. that usually works for me...and then I'm off on a wild tangent of the spoken language. Go me! If that doesn't work......Just act casual and start talking to them. you know, like "hey! how are you? hows *blank*" and it should take off?

Mmk... A lot of this is helping...
I'm beginning if it would be a good idea to start jumping into other people's conversations... And no Vash, I'm not a good conversationalist, you just bring up good topics. That's why I'm capable of speaking to you. |
