I see not as to why two people who are genuinely in love should not wed. Love is love in any form. Who are we to say what is ''right'' or what is ''wrong''? We are merely human. Thus, we are flawed, and we do in fact make mistakes. The sooner we all realize that none of us are that of a ''higher being'', the better off we all shall be. When I say ''higher being'' I am not associating that with any religious beliefs. I use the term loosely, and I aim it toward power, in-general. I thought I should elaborate as to what I meant when I used that terminology to save myself from any flaming that I may endure. Lastly, in case anyone was wondering as to what my sexuality and or religion is [not that it matters, per-se], I will say this . . . . I am Christian, as well as bisexual. I was born into Christianity. I have always, and still do feel that this is the right religion for me. Yes, I firmly believe this at the age of fifteen. Although, there are few aspects of this religion that I disagree with. I am certain that you all can assume as to what aspects these are. I believe that homosexuality, bisexuality, and heterosexuality are not choices. I believe that we are all born this way. However, in some cases, these things may be developed. I know many people who are half-and-half on this issue. Some of the people whom I have spoken to that claim they are homosexual or bisexual say that they have been sexually assaulted, thus, their believing that this act made them ''this way''. I can just as easily argue the fact that I was raised in a Christian house hold, and that I have never been sexually assaulted. So, how did I end up being ''this way''? I certainly did not choose to be ridiculed by the close-minded bigots of today's society. If homosexuality and bisexuality are in fact sins, then, God shall take these sins away on his own time, as he had given up his lone son, Jesus Christ, to forgive the flaws of thy humans that he created. Amen. |

I don't think gay people should be able to get married and my only reason is because I'm a Christian and the bible and church don't support it. Even though you made a point that Christian values shouldn't govern this country, but I still don't support it :)

Spirited Away, that is much like saying "hate Jews, not Jewish people." The sin, in this case, sodomy, is much a part of the person. So much so some have simply started hating the person, for that is much easier to do. You can't torture and kill a sin.

Even though you made a point that Christian values shouldn't govern this country, but I still don't support it :) Im Catholic and Catholics dont support Stem Cell Research. But? You Know What? I found out that Stem Cells Actually Help People! And i dont support my churchs decesion. You shouldnt just support something because the Bible says and the church says. Some of the gay ppl actually are christian. Are they going to hell for being gay but believe in god? Thats really wrong to me it is. I mean they dont commit murder. |

So much so some have simply started hating the person, for that is much easier to do. You can't torture and kill a sin. Uh, no. The equivalent would actually be: "hate Judaism, not Jews", in other words, hate the religion, not the people who serve it, which is faulty because you are equating Judaism to a sin. Another way to interpret may be to hate the act of doing a wrong, not the person who's committed the wrong. The "sin" is sodomy not homosexuality, and therein lies a difference (or so religious groups have said). In fact, there are forums dedicated to Christian homosexuals who are trying their hardest to abstain from sex. I believe I have posted a link or two in this thread (if not, in an older gay marriage thread), but you are welcome to research it yourself. Sounds awfully strange, I thought so, too, but that's that. ------------ FYI, I no longer have an opinion on this matter. I said all I can about this topic in previous threads. |
