Ooh, that really sucks. So I guess they're not kidding when they say you better wear your retainers. o_0

But not that makes me worry. Because I've been soooooo lazy with wearing them lately.

That happened to me. But their reason for putting them on the second time was because "We didn't leave them on long enough" and they made me pay full price. They're the ones that took them off!

Don't they glue a tiny wire thing on the inside of your teeth once you get your braces off (plus a retainer)?

The orthodontist inserts two metallic rings on both sides of my innest molars on the lower jaw today. I can feel the metal clashing with the upper jaw. pinch.gif

No but I've broken my retainers so I don't wear them and I'm scared they might tell me I need them again when I do go back there. ::shudders:: pinch.gif

Yeah I got braces twice too.
I had a retainer though.
And I wore it every day.
So I don`t know what went wrong.

Anyone have any experience with Invisalign or Orthoclear? I'm supposed to be getting Invisalign in the next few months. I'm excited about it, because the sooner I get them on, the sooner it will be over, and it should only be about a year. So yeah. I'm kinda nervous about the pain though.

No, it doesn't hurt when your braces get taken off. They get some hot air thing and they melt the glue from the brackets and just pull it off, you won't feel a thing. And yes, you'll sound funny while you wear your retainers when you talk, you'll have trouble saying some letters, but it's no big deal lol.

I got my braces taken off a year ago, and I wear my retainers nearly every night because I've heard of some friends who's teeth shifted for not wearing retainers. So, I don't want that to happen to me lol.

And to whoever asked about what retainers were, they're things to put into you're mouth after you get your braces off to keep them from shifting back to their original state. It's not something you have to wear 24/7 though, at first I had to wear mine at least 12 hours a day and a few months later it was down to 6 hours a day.. and then eventually my orthodontist just told me to wear it at least 3 times a week, but I still wear it more often than that just incase lol.
