Mmmmk, I was making a layout for a dear friend, and I found this hideous picture of a woman on www.fotocommunity.com, but I fell in love with her eyes, and decided I HAD to use it in the layout.
I most certainly was NOT going to use it the way it was, so I decided to fix 'er up a tad... Right wehn I was showing her what I had done so far, Photoshop decided to take a vacation and terminated, before I had saved... ANYTHING.... so yeah, I am showing you ALL THAT I GOT DONE ![]() *tear* (original on the right bigger version here) tis le thumbbed

The woman's lips look smoothed out with the rest of her face that it looks like it's melting a bit..
Kinda scares me a bit. J'adore les couleurs |

I kinda like the original better than the retouched one.
I often smooth out pictures and touch them up in Photoshop to prep it for vexelling. Over-smoothing and reliance on Gaussian blurs only make the skin look fake, and the image will lose its detail. Try taking your original image, putting the newly retouched one over it as a new layer, and setting the new layer to 60% or even 50% opacity. You'll retain some of the details while still smoothing the picture out. And yes, I do realize your Photoshop messed up on you. :) |

^ Hmm, if that's the case...I can understand. I think the skin itself looks fine. Perhaps put the blurred eyes, eyebrows, lips and hair in a different layer so you can use a different opacity on those? So, in other words, keep the skin parts at 100% opacity and reduce the opacity on the other layers? So that you can retain details.
Don't know if that made sense. |

Well..in that case you certainly ahcieved your goal. haha, yeah, i guess he did. actually, when i really examined the skin, it looked okay, but i guess what was making it look weird to me at first glance was the lips. make them stand out more, because they blend in too much. |
