Fine. Then move to a white neighborhood and go to a white school. There is no law stopping you. Don't FORCE others to do that.

first yeah i can't pick up and move seeing as my parents make that decision. 2nd yeah they do i mean i do like being at an all black school but i also liked being at an intergrated school. also to know what is better and what you like more you have to experience both sides and then choose your stance

But what if everyone else wants to go to their local shcool and the neighborhood is predominantely of one race? In that case, if you respect EVERYONE'S, not just your own, right to choose, then there is no perfectly racially balanced school you could go to.

It's all about the right to choose here.

I'm glad they are stopping busing. I lived in Cleveland and watched the school system take a dump. The blacks didn't want to be in our schools in the first place and to show their disapproval they totally vandalised the high school and middle school!! Every May they had "May Day" where they would start a riot and beat on any white kids that came to school that day. NO I'm not joking I'm dead serious!! It was the one day that no white kids EVER went to school. There have been many riots in the high school, it was almost a weekly thing on the news...now I'm not saying it was the "blacks" fault all the time, it was the fact that none of them wanted to be integrated and this was how they proved it.

Racism in Cleveland is some serious sh*t!! It's everywhere!! I'm sure many inner cities are the same way. Tensions run high when you have thousands upon thousands of culturally diverse peoples living on top of eachother like a bunch of sardines.

Racism works both ways, ya know.

On the other hand the whites didn't want to go into a full black neighborhood either. Most of the kids I knew dropped out of school either because they got chased out of the neighborhood or were just to scared to go in the first place.

I remember my first day of orientation at the middle school in the projects I was supposed to be bussed too. This one black chick I guess didn't like the way this white chick looked at her...so she walked up to her called her a white honkey bitch (yah the grammar is quotable...lol) and stabbed her with her pen. Needless to say my Mom wasn't too keen on that sh*t so she shipped me off to Catholic school.

No one should be FORCED to go to a certain school, and why in heck they think it's better to send a kid on a 45 minute bus ride into a strange neighborhood as opposed to going to the school 2 streets away is beyond me!!

Actually(i'm going to have fun with this) That has absolutely nothing to do with what I'm saying. I'm saying we need diveristy. It is not black and white in the real world. You don't know what I'm saying because you are not experiencing what I am. By people going to majority one color school it forces racist views. I swear to you I'm not lying or kidding when I say at school they teach you to hate white people. Why? Because these people have never been around white people. They take what they see on Tv and make a conclusion from it. A conclusion that is biased and not even half of the story.

You are right she sued because it was a white school right by. I'm saying that we need to buss because people are not going to move to a neighborhood where they are the only one of their skin color. So the only way to get diveristy is to buss. To have programs like M to M where it takes minorities and brings them to majority of one color school and it begans to change the school into a mixed environment.



Yeah that is in down south Georgia though. I live in Dekalb County which is in metro Altlanta. It is sad that people are so closed-minded and ignorant. That same county now added a new prom. An all hispanic prom. Now they have a Black prom-whichi is open to everyone, a white prom-closed to everyone not white, and a hispanic prom. It is so stupid

ok so if they are teaching racism, then why in the heck would it be a good thing to send the very ones they are hating right smack dab into the middle of school with them?? That makes absolutely no sense and is one of the main reasons why integration like this works better in theory then in reality

yeah but it is not like that everywhere. Up North is more racist than down here in the South and of course racism goes the same way. Now ya'll are going to be like i'm contraditing myself but I do like going to an all black school and if i were asked if i wanted to go to Dunwoody I would say no not only because i couldn't stand those kids cause they tried so hard to someone they weren't, but I do feel more at home at that school. I just would like to see people of different races but then that accounts for their parents moving into the neighborhood. I don't like in the projects or ghetto or anything so it wouldn't be like someone moving into my neighborhood would be ostracized. I would want more intergrated schools because there would be less of an ignorance of other races. Because the one thing I HATE about that school is the ignorance level. Also that they want to say the white man this the whtie man that. i just yell THE WHITE MAN DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU, JUST AS THE BLACK MAN DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE WHITE MAN. I can't stand when folks say the "man" is keeping them down when they just need to get their lazy selves up and do something for a change....anyways backl on subject

Oh I sooooooooooo agree with you on "THE MAN" thing. God it ticks me off so bad when I hear someone say that!! I just wanna smack the crap out of them.

People are always looking for an excuse as to why their life is so screwed up, and heck let's blame "the man"...I mean it's not like you could actually pay attention in school, learn something and get a damn job!! If the man was so out to get em...then why in the heck is there still Affirmative action??

The other thing I hate is when a younger black person brings up slavery...OMG PUHLEEEZE shut the hell up!!! The only people that have a right to still be bitching about slavery are those that were enslaved themselves, and then don't take it out on all the whites...you find the man that was your "owner" and blame him!! I wasn't around back then and neither were any of the ones b*tchin about it now...so DROP IT!!

Yes it was terrible and thank god it was abolished, but I mean you find me a true "slave" from back then and the "owner" from back then and I say fine...Duke it out, but leave me the hell out of it just because my skin is white!!

100% with you!!! I can't stand when people bring up slavery!!!!!!! and reparations why should i pay for something i didn't do nor cause because WE would be paying for it out of taxes and mess and plus you weren't enslaved yourself so get over it. Why should i give you a dime!
I can't stand lazy people who want to sit there and leech off the government cuz their lazy behind doesn't want to get up, get a job, and get an education. If they would stop so much worrying about looking good maybe they could get an education. I'm not saying i don't worry about looking good, but it doesn't interfer with my work. I can resepct someone who is acting a straight fool but turning in their work. But not someone who expects everything to be handed to them. That is why I have a big problem with welfare. It is good to those who actually do want to get off of it and do better, but there are TOO many people just living off the government, essentially living off of me. Why should I be paying for your 100 dollar Jordans. Why are you so worried about lookin fresh when your mom can hardly pay the light bill. That kills me because that is the epitomy of ignorance!!!

I just resently got my first job and i looked at how much i get takin out for taxes....and i personally think its a big load of horse shit.....i mean most of that money goes to pay for the Millions out there that r to lazy to work...or think that its great to lay on there fat asses and collect money for it....y the hell should we pay for them....or all them people out there whining bout back problems.....get a desk job....damn....during the summer i work up to 16 hours a day and ya kno i want to see the fruits of my hard labor....but no some lazy bum gets to see it too.....

Oh and back to the Busing....i think its F*CKD up i mean i have some good friends that are a different race then me...and i play football with a bunch of black guys and i respect them for the racial background as well as there personal accomplishments....one is Validvicetorian(sp)....another is the fastest kid in the school.....and one guy hits so hard on the field that he gave 5 kids concusions in one game.....Diverserity is great....it part of america..if you dont like it get out....
