That smoking should be illegal.

I tell my dad everytime he smokes around me he is killing me, but he just doesn't understand second hand smoking.

Either let any race of a man or woman be our president, or...
Making gay marriage legal.

Er, correct me if I'm wrong, maybe I'm uninformed. The president is already allowed to be any race, and any gender.

Yeah, it's definitely already legal. It's illegal to discriminate against anybody for a job due to sex or race.....

YAY for ariel. i love you, you're smart.

even though i'm considered a liberal for turning away from conservative/republican ideas, i find that many teachers do only teach with only one political side in mind. this is why i loved my apush class, because our teacher wanted us to stand up against him, to prove to him why, what we thought was a valid argument. republicans and democrats have both their strengths and weaknesses, but that doesn't mean that we should keep a certain political party out of office. that, would be similar to communism or facism.

there are many schools of thought, and although conservative-ism is not as popular now, politics seems to go in a circle, or american politics does. there will be times when conservatism is in favor, and times when liberalism is.

anyways, back to the topic, i think that the 28th amendment should be, to legalize gay marriage.

I would say that political opinions should be kept out of schools. You can teach politics, but stop adding your opinions.

I say this because I, unlike many of you, am a conservative Republican. Most teachers, however, are liberal pushovers. I swear, what the hell.

I don't care if you agree or not, but brainwashing the youth into liberalism? That's a bit wrong in my opinion.

This year I actually have much more conservative teachers, and they're less likely to hide their opinions than my liberal teachers were, who always felt they had to hide their opinions. The conservatives do a much worse job of not saying their opinions (for me)

Gay marriages should ALREADY be a law. I mean, why are people so associated with things that won't affect them....

Because our country is hypocritical, and claims to have a separation of church and state and to accept all cultures, and yet wind up basing laws off Chrisitan beliefs anyway.

^^Exactly. There are people at my school who are like "Oh I respect you for your religion, and the laws should stay separated from religion because not everyone believes like I do!" Buuuut, when you bring up gay marriage, this is their reply:

"NO! That is a sin against the bible and it should be illegal because you will go to hell!!!"

Now that is where I wonder whatever happened to the view of "not everyone believes like I do."

If conservatism is not in favor, then how come conservatives hold a majority in both houses of Congress, and control the presidential administration?

That should be a definite possibility, since we have fiscally-responsible Republicans in control of Congress. That sort of thing would never happen with those tax-and-spend Democrats, though.

Or…what a minute…

Michael, I like that balanced budget idea. That would be cool as well as legalizing gay marriage. My 28th amendment would completely overhaul the current election system and have a new one in place. (electoral college</3)

Just get rid of the whole democracy thing. Even Plato didn't like the idea.

Heh. I'm not saying that elections are bad. In fact, I'm totally for democracy. But the electoral college isn't a very good system, IMO, because not everyone's votes are represented.

Democracy isn't a good system. There are better systems. It's more like the lesser of (several) evils.
