No, Taking Back Sunday is not emo. Nonetheless, they're a good band.

Okay maybe a band like From First to Last would be considered emo, but none of the bands in the poll are. And Relient K is defiantly not emo...

yeah Relient K isn't emo at all.

And it is true none of the bands on the poll really are emo...just mainstream things that kids like...pathetic..

Oh and also FFTL is screamo.

Oh and also FFTL is screamo.

That can be synonymous with emo. wink.gif

And screamo is a derivative of emo, so if a band is screamo, you could call it emo, too.

screamo...deriving from emo...gee couldn't of spotted that one at all! lol im playing. but actually emo is more slow'd down soft stuff, and screamo is typically screaming and singing.

Emo isn't really slow stuff. Emo itself is derived from hardcore punk (emo is, in fact, short for "emotive hardcore"), so in its original incarnation, it was pretty heavy stuff.

Look at the history of emo, and you'll find out where the name comes from.
