Hello,
Whenever I try to play a windows media video off of the internet, I hear the audio but I dont see the picture. I've reinstalled Windows Media, updated the flash player, and installed the Codec Installation Package for Windows Media Player 7.1 or later, but it still shows up the same.

Here's a picture of what it looks like...

Is there any thing else that I can do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated happy.gif

My first reaction would be to assume a missing video codec, or codec incompatibility. This is the usual cause of audio playing but video being broken, or vice-versa. What file are you trying to play?

I'm not sure what kind of file it is, but it only happens when I'm trying to see a video on the internet. If I download it or get it from somewhere else it plays fine. Doesn't matter what site I go on, I can hear the audio but cant see anything but that green thing.

One, that's overkill for "just a virus"; and two, there's really no way of knowing now what caused the problem, since you likely had to reinstall everything.

well i dont know wut it is eithr but my comp apparently overheated and i had to buy a new hard drive. when i took out the old hard drive it looked like someone put their lighter under it. but as u said it could probably have been a missing codec. thanx again for the halp. deeply appreciated. cool.gif
