When I read the second post, I got a picture in my head of people who were really blue, like the color your face gets when you're choking or something.

Well is says something about them having a reduced ability to transport oxygen and carbon dioxide. Wouldn't these "blue people" eventually just die?

Well everyone dies eventually, but even with a smaller supply of oxygen entering and carbon dioxide exiting their systems, I highly doubt that it's that big of a problem.

They might be more.. drowsy. Something like that, because their oxygen supply is lower and if you get less oxygen, you get drowsy.
