i read "go ask alice" before and was considering reading cut, but didn't. i like reading books in the form of diaries, it's an interesting point of view. and i get what you mean by the common problems. there was this other book i read about teens drinking. it's a very typical topic, teens & all those problems, but i like reading books about them too.

I was going to read 'Go Ask Alice' but a friend borrowed it and things got mixed up and now it is lost. =\ Those books are usually pretty okay, though I really didn't like 'The perks of being a wallflower' I don't understand why everyone loves that book so much, I mean it is sort of..unoriginal.

So, wait. You think that "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" is unoriginal, but that teen drug use is indeed original? Tell me I'm reading this wrong. laugh.gif

heres a friendly note o all of you who are so captivated by Go Ask Alice....ITS FAKE!!!!!! the authour one beatrice sparks even admits that this book is mot based on anyone particular. shes also the authour if JAYS JOURNOL which has been proved to be a complete fake. The real story is about a boy named Alden Barrett, who did committ sucide but never led a life like the one portrayed by this so called author.so see for yourself. do your own research just know that your true stories are made up and have split apart the members of the families that they really are about.SPARKS IS A FAKE AND SO ARE HER BOOKS.

I read Go Ask Alice. I liked it but I couldn't stand to read it because of her destructive behavior throughout the entire book. It was good though thumbsup.gif 2 thumbs up.

I read Go Ask Alice, it was pretty... tragic? I don't know any other adjective to describe it. Thinking of it as fake and fictional kinda ruins it though.

if books like that interest you... go read

"The White Horse"
"Smack"

umm... "I was a Teenage Fairy" isn't really about drugs or alcohol, but it borderlines on sexual harrassment ... It's by Francesca Lia Block and is incredible if you like her style.

there. semi-angsty-and-tragic books for you to read.

I have Cut and I've read Go Ask Alice. They were both really good. I really like the girl's nickname in Cut, and the ending of Go Ask Alice made me sad.

K, Acid Bath Slayer, to be quite honest you are making me quite angry. I'm not trying to start anything, but honestly. Ok, so the point of forums is to discuss general interests and things like that. and basically you are telling anyone who likes 'go ask alice' that they are wrong to like it. you go on basically trying to prove that you are right, and everyone else is wrong. you know what, people are allowed to think what they want to think, and just because you tell them something that you think is a fact does not mean that they will change their minds, and it definately does not mean that you are right. All it means is that you read something once, and now are repeating it. Personally I really like the book 'go ask alice'. i just finished it like an hour ago, and i came on the internet trying to find out more information on the story behind it. I don't believe the crap you are saying about the editor making it up, and whatever. I think it's a true story, and i think it's very sad. and for you to say that you hate it, is rediculously rude. so you hate a dead girl. that's really mature. I hope your additude changes because having that 'i know everything' additude will not get you very far in life. don't bother posting back because i don't plan on coming back to this site again, i just thought i would tell you my thoughts on your rediculous posts. i hope everyone has a good day.

The books were both alright...I liked Go Ask Alice more than Cut, but Go Ask Alice didn't really feel like a totally real diary to me.

Yeah, I own the book. I like how the girl's nickname is still Silent Treatment even after she starts talking again. I don't remember a lot else that I liked when I first read it, sorry. ><

I read it a couple years ago. I don't remember it now...
Was this the book where she carved FTW into her hip or something?
