Do you think it's bad to "like" someone 6-7 years older than you, or to even have a real love interest in them? ermm.gif

it's not bad to 'like' someone that much of an age difference if you know what you're doing, and be careful.

depends what age YOU are. it its like 16 and 23 its just no. but if you're advanced in age, say 20 and 26, as long as it works between you, then gungho.

age has NOTHING to do with the sincerity of someone's feelings. its not bad to like someone older, its just, you're taking a risk. big age difference relationships tend not to work because one partner is so much more mature and wise than the other. it ends up being taxing for the older and overbearing for the younger. so no, its not bad at all.

let's just keep it legal ;x

I agree. As long as it's legal then it's all good. There's a reason why certain things are illegal. I believe that 4 years is the largest gap allowed.

I know that people are going to say that some people are more mature at ages than others but you have to realize, at such a large age gap (6-7) you two are at different points in your lives. It doesn't matter how mature you are, you don't have all the experience the other person has, you're not on the same page. The older person is chapters ahead of you.

I know how it can feel to think you're in love with a guy older than you, wayyy older. Fact is it's illegal, and if you really cared for that person you wouldn't run the risked of them getting 5 to 10 years. :\
But if both are adults, that's perfectly fine. happy.gif

Do you think people really care about what your insecure mind thinks?

Depends on your age. If you're, say, 21, and the person is 27, it's probably not a huge deal; if you're 15, and the person is 21, it probably is.

People change a lot as they age, especially once they move out of their house and are out on their own for a while, paying their own bills, that sort of thing. College, too, has a tendency to change people--usually for the better, but it causes a change no matter what. If both people are past these parts of their lives, they probably have a better handle on themselves, and know more about themselves, and then a relationship with a large age gap isn't really an issue. But if you're still in high school (or even younger), dating someone that much older probably won't work out very well.

goes under age differences..
haha.
Age really shouldn't matter
since a lot of people these days
do mature quicker than some other people.

it's not bad i mean my parents are 7 years apart. i think it matters less and less as you get older. now if you were like 14 dating someone 21, that would be weird.

It depends on the age such as if you were 13 and your bf was 20. or if you were 12 and your bf is 19. but if you were 20 and your bf was 26 its not so weird.

If you agree that it depends on whether it's legal or not...then why are you dating someone who is 22?

Hum. Thats illegal.

Back to the topic, if theres going to be a big age gap like that, you should at least be at an age where it will be accepted by others. If your going to be .. 14 or something and in love or dating a guy of 22, well people are just going to think it's wrong.

Especially when the person who is 14 and is legally still pretty much a child. Most guys of that age would be expected to be dating someone around their own age.

As long as both are legal, I think age is just a number.
