The movie was soo good. At times it was word for word from the book.
And Darcy's voice..doesn't really fit his body. At least I didn't think so. But, yeah. It was good though. KK wasn't that bad at Elizabeth... |

I'm currently reading it right now. I'm 13 years old. Sometimes, I have to read over the lines I just read again because Jane Austen's writing is so formal. It's sort of hard to understand. So far, it's okay. Hopefully it will get better.

I read Pride and Prejudice when I was 13, and I loved it. It's my all-time favorite novel. Some of my friends who read it thoroughly despised the novel, much to my dismay. The movie was really good too. I think Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen did a wonderful job as the beloved Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.

I love it, and I first read it when I was 13. I didn't really like the most recent movie. The BBC version, though extremely long, is wonderful. Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. <33

^ Oh absolutely. The Colin Firth version was wayyyy better.
![]() Pride and Predjudice was ok, but I think Jane Austen's Emma was better. |

I really enjoyed Pride and Prejudice. I have to say that nowadays a lot of movies copy the plot, like Bridget Jones Diary. Anyways, Austen seems a little pedantic at times, but not in a bad way... I like her style. I heard the sequel was awful; it was written by another author who tried to copy Austen's style and failed (apparently it was extremely pedantic in a most irritating way).

the movie is my absolute favorite! the newer one that is.
I read the book first and didn't get lots of it, but the movie helped me understand the book better afterwards. |

Are you kidding me?! There are tons of people in this age group that love this book (obviously, as demonstrated by the previous posters).
I read the book my sophomore year and it instantly became one of my favorites. I love Austen's style. I didn't think it was too hard, and compared to other writers of that time period, Austen's manner could be considered one of the more simplistic ones. The recent movie was good. I really liked it and I watch it whenever I'm in the romantic Regency mood. I have yet to see the BBC version, but I really, really want to see it. I've heard that it's better than the most recent one and that Colin Firth is a much better Mr. D'arcy. |

Well, true. But girls actually out number guys (worldwide, I mean).
But there's no use in getting technical. And yeah, I've seen the supposed "sequels" to Pride and Prejudice. They just did not look or read like Austen at all. |
