sum guy called me chinese.... when im VIET! its really annoying when other ethnics call all asians *chinese* i know sum of us are.... BUT NOT ALL!!! if u dont know... then juss call us an *asian* not CHINESE! i juss wanted to get that out.... b4 i went crazy

i hate it. it's so disrespectful. especially when they say "oh, speak chinese!"
then they imitate chinese.. "ching chong wahh". grr. i wanna kick their heads. i'm cambodian & chinese. but i don't look very chinese. cambodians don't look chinese AT ALL. if you don't know, just say asian. it's not that hard. ^^ |

 man really you guys need to ligthen up. people call us that because most asians are chinese and Chinese people are the most well known asians in the world. I mean really most asians movies that come out in america are what? Chinese! or even that stars Rush hour, Jackie Chan. Kiss of the Dragon, Jet Li. Bullet Proof Monk, Chow Fat or some thing like that. I dont even mind being called chinese i wish i was but im only .6% or something like that .4% .2% i dont remember. So yeah Chill out some people are just ignorant, Stupid, or they dont know you. Ignore it.

i can tell the difference between diff types of asians =D.. sorta heh ;x
but then for ppl of different ethnicities, it's hard. bcuz if someone asked me to distinguish people from like central american and south american countries.. i could sorta, but not really, cuz i don't know the differences that well.. yup |

I think that happens to every minority, hmm my friend was Thai (at least I had a good guess he was south east asian) but many people thought he was Mexican. I'm a different story, I'm mixed...and many people think I'm dominican or some "hispanic", it gets annoying..but than I just shrug it off.

When I was in high school, about 80% of the school's population was Asian, so rarely were there ever any incidents such as calling anyone Asian "Chinese." And anyway, I guess people at my school aren't that ignorant to be assuming that all Asians are Chinese. If they don't know, they'll ask. I guess schools these days just aren't that friendly anymore.

it's okay if it's just a small mistake or something...
but when a rowdy, inconsiderate, rude group of people ((girls, boys, school cliques, etc.)) do that on purpose, i get mad. people are so grrr...like that.there should be classes at school for people to learn the different groups of the asian cultures and races. lol...sheesh...just cause an international incident, will you? kidding. People don't usually guess what I am. It's more like, "Hey you, girl." But if they do guess, it's usually filipino, chinese, mexican(I dont look mexican at all), or umm.. I forgot the other one.. I think it started with a P? Anyhoo.. I'm only flip/chinese out of those 4.

haha yah.. it's annoying when you get mistaken to be someone of a different race. hehe I'm asian(Filipino) and people mistake me for an American o.o;;;; But in the end, it doesnt really seem to matter. You could reverse all of it and turn it into a compliment ya know =P

yeah that pisses me off so much when i was in like 3rd 4th grade the kids would always make fun of me because i was asian and they didnt call me asian they called me chinese wtf people sometimes are so god damn stupid why do people always first think of chinese when they think of asians well i am vietnamies and proud of it
