so okay lets say i make my layout and i code it and all. and im gonna upload it to my site using smartFTP what file exactly do i upload it to? & do i have to upload the layout code to every single page on my website? probably a really obvious answer but i just want to make sure!

You don't have to upload the layout to every page,but you can put this code on each page <LINK REL=stylesheet HREF="nameofyourstylesheethere.css" TYPE="text/css"> ,it links to your css,so the css/layout will show up on every page.What folders do you have in FTP?

Upload it to the root folder usually your main page. {Not in all cases}
Your first page or the page you want everyone to see when they go to your site should be index.php If you don't want to upload your layout on every page learn php includes. |
