"Real gangstas sip on yacc, you just generate a parser."

That's some pretty clever wordplay there.

"For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who can't readily accept the God formula, the big answers don't remain stone-written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command or faith a dictum. I am my own God, We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us."
- - Charles Bukowski

"existence precedes and rules essence"
- - Sartre's Dictum

"My way of joking is to tell the truth. It's the funniest joke in the world."
- - George Bernard Shaw

"There is something feeble and a little contemptible about a man who cannot face the perils of life without the help of comfortable myths. Almost inevitably some part of him is aware that they are myths and that he believes them only because they are comforting. But he dares not face this thought! Moreover, since he is aware, however dimly, that his opinions are not rational, he becomes furious when they are disputed."
- - Bertrand Russell

"Strange! that you should not have suspected years ago -- centuries, ages, eons ago! -- for you have existed, companionless, through all the eternities. Strange, indeed, that you should not have suspected that your universe and its contents were only dreams, visions, fiction! Strange, because they are so frankly and hysterically insane -- like all dreams: a God who could make good children as easily as bad, yet preferred to make bad ones; who could have made every one of them happy, yet never made a single happy one; who made them prize their bitter life, yet stingily cut it short; who gave his angels eternal happiness unearned, yet required his other children to earn it; who gave his angels painless lives, yet cursed his other children with biting miseries and maladies of mind and body; who mouths justice and invented hell -- mouths mercy and invented hell -- mouths Golden Rules, and forgiveness multiplied by seventy times seven, and invented hell; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, then tries to shuffle the responsibility for man's acts upon man, instead of honorably placing it where it belongs, upon himself; and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him!"
- - Mark Twain

Some of my favorites. biggrin.gif

This quote has been altered so many times but it basically has the same meaning:

"Dance as if no one were watching
Sing as if no one were listening
Love as if you've never been hurt
and Live every day as if it were your last"

and I love this one, too:

"I don't trust guys who are out to save the world. And I can't stand Gung-ho fanatics. Guys like that are all about glory and they're usually all talk. But when push comes to shove they crumble. Do you know why? Because they're out for themselves. It's an ego trip. That's why they have no stomach for real sacrifice."

We love them for a million reasons,
No paper would do it justice.
It is a thing not of the mind
but of the heart.
A feeling.
Only felt.

Haha. Here are just some of my favorite quotes. I'll probably add more later. happy.gif

"Unhappiness is best defined as the difference between our talents and our expectations." -Anonymous

"With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts." - Eleanor Roosevelt

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." -Eleanor Roosevelt

"Remember one thing only: that it's you, nobody else, who determines your destiny and decides your fate. Nobody else can be alive for you nor can you be alive for anybody else." -E.E. Cummings

"Let it be known that God's penmanship has been signed with a language called love. That's why my breath is felt by the deaf & my words are heard & confined to the ears of the blind. I too, dream in color & in rhyme, so I guess I'm one of a kind in a full house, 'Cause whenever I open my heart, my soul, or my mouth; a touch of God reigns out."
- Kanye West

Coach Ken Carter: What is your deepest fear?
Timo Cruz: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

People are going to want you- need you,
exceed you, take you, beat you, love you.
hate you, play you, rate you, & break you
but never let anyone make you
