age difference, just wondering ..
what's the age difference you limit yourself to between you and a person you would go out with?

i was just wondering, but to me, the age difference doesn't really matter, it's how much i connect with the person, but i guess if the guy was an old man, i'd have to set my limits right there. biggrin.gif

This is an issue that constantly resurfaces with me and my friends when we discuss relationships.

As a freshman, I was rather popular at my old school and, without knowing how old I was, I began dating an 18 year old senior. Eventually, I told her that Iw as a freshman at the time (14) and she was cool with it.

Now, I'm a senior, ready to graduate. Age difference is tricky at this point in my life because a girl can be stacked like a woman but have the mind of a child. Conversely, a girl can be a child and have the mind of a woman.

High school is the biggest dilemma because many people, especially girls, are caught up in the drama and nonsense of everyday social contact. Twice more, many can be smart girls but habitually make dumb-ass choices, say dumb-ass thigns and sacrifice their individuality to be dumb-asses.

Once I'm in the ladder part of my 20s, I wouldn't sneer at a girl 4 years younger than me. I'd welcome it. As for now, the older, the better.

I think age is something that matters less and less the older you get.

I dont think age really matters i could date someone 10+ years but thats only when i turn 16 lol. I would never go out with anyone old enough to be my dad though, it would be totally gross.

as of right now 2-3 years.. but im pretty sure when i get older, age wont seen so important, and maybe even 4-7 years?

Thats exactly what I was gonna say
I'm 17 now, and I say I would date a guy 3 yrs older, 3 years younger, but I think when your older is doesn't matter as much, like once you hit the 25 - 30 range
have any of you guys seen that couple on Maury the boy was 13 and the woman was 40 and they got married. I could never be 13 and date someone that old, of course they broke up afterwards.

I'm not interested in older guys, so I guess under a year or two or same age would be fine.

It really depends what you want, and how mature you are. If you're 14, and you're some "OMG I'm like SO totally upset that my mom didn't let me go to that party" kind of girl, and you're dating a 21 year old ................. uh, that would be wrong. I see it all the time too. I probably wouldn't go over 5 years, and I'm 17.. My boyfriend's 21, and we've been together for a year and a half.

2 yrs. Soooo much happens during your teenage years that anything above that I think the maturity/experince level is different no matter what.

(plus the going away to college thing is tricky...esp annoying when ur a junior and 1/2 yr older means they are either going away in the fall or are already away ermm.gif )

but ideally any age should work...as said above, the older u get, the less it matters. like a 22 and 28 yr old dating seems pretty ok...a 19 and 13...errr...it happens but not the healthiest thing ever.

I think that it depends on your age. In my opinion it's okay for a 20 year old to date a 25 year old. But, it's not okay for a 10 year old to date a 15 year old. It just depends if you are comfortable with the age difference. It's all up to you.

My biggest age gap has been 2 years I think but age doesn't bother me .. when I'm 16+ I could date someone 20 years older than me .. as long as you love the person there should be no boundaries but when it comes to people under 16 [thats the age of consent of here] I think they shouldn't date people like who are much older than them .. cause it's strange seeing a girl of 13, dating a guy of 17/18 .. thats just my opinion.
